Mr. and Mrs. Rumble are deeply troubled.
Richard's behavior has taken a concerning turn, particularly in relation to Amy.
They already share a room and a bed, a decision made in the aftermath of the accident, intended to help Amy cope by fostering a closer bond.
However, Richard's intentions seem to have shifted dramatically; he now insists on doing everything with her.
He wants to share meals, feed her, dress her, and even bathe with her. While bathing together might be acceptable if they were closer in age, the significant age difference raises alarm bells.
Amy is just 9 years old, while Richard is 15. It's painfully obvious that he no longer views her as a sister or a friend.
When his mother attempted to feed Amy, Richard snatched the spoon from her hand, insisting on feeding Amy himself.
When his father suggested taking Amy for a walk, Richard interjected, insisting she should remain indoors with him.
Even when they encouraged her to play outside and make new friends, Richard made it abundantly clear that he is the only companion she needs. No one else is allowed in her life.
The Rumbles have witnessed all of this unfold, yet Amy remains blissfully unaware.
It’s as if he has cast a spell over her. She complies with everything he says, showing no signs of questioning his actions or finding them inappropriate.
This situation cannot continue.
