you had a 2 year old daughter, Lizzie, and she was the light of your life. you weren't going to lie being a single mum of a two year old was hard. some days you wanted to give up but you knew you couldn't because you loved her so much. you'd recently started looking at different nurseries for Lizzie. nursery meant you wouldn't have to pay for baby sitters every day and it meant she would start making friends and interacting with other kids her own age.

Lizzie was a very shy little girl and hated when she had to spend the day with her baby sitter so that thought was always in the back of your mind, would she even enjoy school? today you'd taken the day off work so you could go look at a nursery with Lizzie for the first time. you wanted her to see where she would be going so she could get used to it and hopefully not be as shy as she normally is.

"you excited to see your new nursery love?" you asked her as you glanced at her in the rear view mirror. she was the most beautiful child in the entire world and yes people may call you biased because she was yours but you didn't care, she was beautiful. now Lizzie could say phrases like 'thank you' which always came out as 'tank you', she would always say 'peas' which was 'please', 'juice' and so many others. the whole way to the nursery Lizzie was 'singing' along to songs from 'The Princess and the Frog' which was always so sweet to hear.

that was by far her favourite Disney film and it was also yours too. you didn't wanna overwhelm Lizzie by taking her to more than two nurseries. if this one perfect for her she would hopefully be going there. you arrived at the nursery 15 minutes later and you were honestly very nervous. starting nursery was a big thing and with her being so young you were worried she may not make friends or she'll be to shy to go. you just prayed her teacher was nice.

having a nice teacher always made school somewhat bearable and all you wanted for Lizzie was for her to enjoy herself. you and Lizzie walked hand-in-hand to the entrance and you were welcomed in with all different pieces of art work which the children had obviously made and then there was pictures of some of the staff. the head teacher, the deputy head and then a few others for the older years.

you were greeted by the the receptionist who led you to through the school to where the nursery room was. Lizzie's grip on your hand tightened as she got more and more nervous. the receptionist opened the door for you and you saw about 15 children who were sat at different tables playing with finger paints, all the children had different colours on their hands from blues to reds to greens. they all ranged from ages 2-4.

you looked around to find the teacher and you saw him kneeling down with a few children, complimenting their work. you heard a little "wow that's beautiful. is that for your mummy?" from him then a small "yes" from the little girl next to him. the receptionist coughed and this pulled the teacher out of his 'teaching' and he looked up from the small desk. "Mr.Quinn, this is Miss.Y/L/N. she's here for the tour and meeting about her daughter joining your class. i hope you didn't forget Mr.Quinn"

he stood up and walked over to you, as he got closer he stuck out his hand so you could shake it. "hi nice to meet you, i'm Mr.Quinn. of course i didn't forget Miss.Philips, i'd never forget." he smiled brightly at you, "nice to meet you, i'm y/n" you shook hands and smiled before looking down and Lizzie. Joseph bent down so he was now eye level with her. "you must be Lizzie, pretty name for a pretty girl" he said, sending her a small smile. she dug her face into your leg and blushed brightly, her shyness completely taking over her.
