A/N: Missed yesterday's update I believe! Whoops sorry! Had some exams to study for and on a much more serious note, a good classmate of mine was killed in a car crash over the weekend. Stories kind of got pushed out of mind. :( anyway: enjoy!

Chapter 10

The door opened to his room and he slowly opened his eyes. Things were a little fuzzy but all he saw was the door shut and a familiar face. He stared up and his eyes filled with tears as the figure walked towards him.

"M-Mike?" he whispered. Why was Mike here? He shivered and pushed himself away from him. Mike continued forward and Chester found himself backed up against a wall. Mike stopped a few feet away from him.

"Pathetic. Can't even stand. I never should've changed you. I'm glad to be rid of you."

Chester stared into the other vampire's eyes. Mike took a step forward and laughed softly.

"Look at you. Who would ever want you to be anywhere near them? You're sick. You're evil. Your eyes show the truth. You never meant a thing to me."

He pressed farther against the wall as he tried to get away from Mike who took another step towards him. Chester looked up as Mike towered over him. He felt small. He was afraid. And then Mike was lifting him off of the floor and shoving him into the wall. Chester gasped as he felt pain spread through him. Mike's hand closed around his throat and he struggled to get out of his grip.

"Remember your lessons Chester? No vampire can get out of this," he hissed and Chester trembled as he tried to break free. Mike slammed him to the ground and he felt parts of his back crack.

"Fight back you pathetic beast. You are worth nothing to me."

The pain intensified. He screamed as Mike knelt down next to him. He wanted this to end. Mike hated him. He'd never cared.

"You know I could stop this Chester. You know I could stop all the pain. But I won't. I want you to suffer. I want you to see that I will never care about you."

It felt like his transformation once again. Unbelievable pain. But this time, he couldn't black out. This time, he was awake while it continued to slowly kill him. And as the minutes passed by, it slowly let up. Mike sighed softly as he stood up.

"You are a disgrace to my family. I left you out in the woods that day because I hoped no one would find you. I wanted you to waste away and die. I wanted you to burn. I wanted you to feel pain. You are nothing to me."

Chester whimpered in pain as Mike got up and kicked him roughly in the side before walking out of the door. Chester laid on the ground shivering from the painful experience. He wasn't wanted. Mike had lied to him. He hated him. He slowly got to his knees and then to his feet. He used the wall to steady himself. The door opened again and he cried out in fear and huddled against the wall. But it wasn't Mike. It was Dave.

"D-Dave," he whispered.

"Chester it is time to....."

"No!" Chester cried as he shook his head, "Please don't let him come back."

"What are you talking about young one?" Dave asked quietly as he took a step forward.

"M-Mike...please, don't make him come back. I....."

Dave was next to him now, "You are shaking. What made you feel like this?"

"M-Mike....he...he...he....," Chester couldn't get the words out. Dave put his arm around him and brought him into a tight hug.

"Did he hurt you son?"

Chester sobbed and nodded. He couldn't express the betrayal and fear he felt. Dave hugged him tightly and stroked the hair at the back of his neck.
