"THIS TASTES GREAT-", "This tastes like ass." Antonio and I both say at the same time. His eyes dart to mine and he lets down a low grumble of annoyance. "Amore we've been here for over 3 hours just tasting cakes, this one's fine," he finally speaks up after muttering bullshit I had heard him say under his breath.
"I don't like chocolate cake for our wedding. It's plain and boring. We need to spice it up," I raise an eyebrow turning my head to the lady, who has been so kind to deal with my shit today. We should probably hurry it up and give her a decent enough tip 'cause I definitely want to come back here again and just buy their cakes. And because it would be embarrassing if she'd kick us out. They're the best bakery in town so far.
"Do you have any mixed or unique combinations we could try?" I ask. She smiles and nods, "By far you're a very picky customer Ms Kings and the first to ask for the combinations I've been working on. I'll bring a few and let you try sí?" she stands, her newly and small formed pregnant belly coming into view.
I nod and thank her as she leaves the room, leaving me sitting in anticipation and excitement. "Amore I have a meeting in a few hours for our mission which is in the next few days I-"
"Fine, since you've managed to stay for so long I can't say no." I interrupt, leaving him in surprise as I am usually hesitant and annoyed when he has to leave. I mean I'm at the brink of having my water broken. I want him to be there when it does. "Just drive safely and text me when you get there? I'll send the details of the cake if I find any of them enjoyable" I sigh rubbing my stomach.
He smiles and leans in, giving me a long kiss, him too placing his hands on my stomach. "Of course, get anything, I don't mind. I'll call a driver to come get you," he mutters, slipping his card into my hands. I smile and peck his lips.
"I love you," I whisper.
"Not as much as I do." he straightens up.
When he's left. Sabrina, the bakeries co-owner. Enters the room again, holding a few small boxes of cakes in her hands, placing them down onto the small table in front of me.
She then takes a seat and opens the boxes introducing the names of the cakes to me and the main ingredients in them. Not the obvious like flour and sugar though.
"This one's a coffee layered cake with vanilla espresso buttercream, this is a key lime pie cake..." and so forth. They all sounded damn good, but after tasting them and really giving my honest opinions I had chosen the Coffee layered cake with vanilla espresso buttercream.
It was sweet, soft and very delicate but also had the addicting tinge of coffee (obviously) that had your mouth watering for more. I was sure enough that everyone would enjoy it.
