"Sir, you know I trust your judgement completely-" the Meeple engineer stuttered, unnerved by the stark white walls and fluorescent lights of the lab. "-but are you absolutely sure this is the best idea? I mean, surely we could push this back a few months. Something this big so soon after the Mephone5's release is-"
"Risky?" Cobs cut the engineer off, barely sparing them a glance. "Trust me, if it's the funds you're worried about I assure you I have more than enough to cover it all. You have nothing to worry about."

Cobs stopped near a large metal door, the fidgety engineer almost bumping into him. Cobs pressed his key card to the scanner next to it, waiting a few seconds as the screen loaded. The scanner dinged, lighting up a light yellow with a white Meeple symbol in the middle. The heavy door slowly slid open, and the engineer had to cover their eyes as the lights suddenly turned on. The room was enveloped in bright manufactured white light.

The lead engineer squinted at the new light source, slowly opening their eyes as they adjusted. A small gasp left them, eyes widening at the humongous contraption infront of them. It was but only a frame work, a metal skeleton of a ship with little to no inner workings put inside yet, but by God it was huge. The warehouse it was stored in must have been over 250 feet tall at the least. The welded together masts and scaffolding almost reached the roof itself.

"The construction team will arrive shortly to begin on the more complicated sections, but as it stands the project is already well underway."
"...sir..." The lead engineer started but their words died before they could form. They were speechless. "Now, will there be any problems with this in the future? I can always arrange a new assignment for you, though it might be more... unpleasant than the one I have offered you now."

The engineer knew what that meant. The expecting look on Cobs's face was not lost on them. It was slightly terrifying to them, knowing completely that this man would happily destroy their life if they dared not to obey. So against the engineer's better judgement, they nodded. "Yes...it will be completed, there is no problem." Cobs smiled, and the lead engineer hated it.

"Good, good. I expected as much." Despite agreeing to the arrangement, a question plagued the engineer's mind. "Sir, forgive me but I must ask..." Cobs hummed, his gaze still on the metal contraption. "What is the point of all this? I understand you want to recapture the Mephone4, but won't it just be disposed of once you do? What's the point of building this ship to capture it if it will only be killed in the end? Why not just....kill it now?"

Cobs didn't answer for a few seconds, and the engineer briefly pondered if they had overstepped. "The Mephone4 has something I need. If I were to kill it normally I could risk destroying what it has." The answer was a lot more simple than the engineer was expecting it to be. "Is this mystery object really so important?" Cobs chuckled. "In order for new Mephones to be created and improved apon, I need what that Mephone4 has."

"In order to create, I must destroy. Thus is the law of polarity."

Mephone was thankful Test Tube didn't try to keep the truth from him, but god was it inconvenient. Mephone hated hurting things, it was one of the main reasons Cobs disliked him after all. Mephone refused to actually hurt anything, even if it was trying to hurt him he still insisted on running instead of defending himself. So you can imagine how difficult it was to accept that the reason he existed in the first place was, not only, to hurt living things, but he was also using the power of a dead creature.
