Just checked and I finally hit the 500 bookmarks! For myself, I was fluent in thinking it would take me about a year...

I am very happy with your patronage and will post three more chapters this month.

Am I pushing myself too hard? I think I am, but I still have some stock that I have written down.

Italicia Kingdom, Winged Warrior Corps Commander Gorio

Gorio was flying to attack from the left flank of the enemy fleet with a large force of 3.000 men, half of her 6.000 soldiers. At her waist was a sharply polished knife. She has killed many enemies with this knife. In the war against the Yi Empire, a great power in the east, she led the attack on the enemy fleet. The enemy steel fleet, swarmed by thousands of winged warriors, was quickly shattered, its chain of command severed, and it was unable to display any real power.

She had recalled the time when she had overpowered the flagship of the enemy fleet and then had her men hold down the Yi Empire man who claimed to be the captain while she straddled him and humiliated him.

"I'll do it again this time... and I'll make him suffer twice as much!"

She wanted to relish in the pleasure like that time, but she can't lose, she thought, as she continued her flight, bracing herself. She looked at the enemy fleet and the distance between them was less than five kilometers.

"So they were only targeting the giant birds, after all. Continue to charge toward the flagship while passing alongside the enemy ship!!"

Then when the distance from the enemy ship was less than one and a half kilometers, a tube with a white dome-like object on it, which was equipped on the enemy ship, seemed to turn toward them.

"!"

For a moment, Gorio felt an indescribable premonition of death, and she rode the updraft that happened to be blowing in to propel her upward. And after that...

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTT!!!

A roar sounded as if it were the roar of a beast. Gorio looked at her unit, which should have been directly below her.

"I-impossible!"

In an instant more than a hundred flying winged warriors were turned into mincemeat and fell into the sea. A storm of steel continued to blow incessantly and while she was stunned, even more warriors fell into the water with such impact that parts of their bodies were blown off.

"Grrr... WHY YOUUUUUUU!!"

The other warriors climbed following Gorio, but the tip of the tube with a white hat spewing a rainstorm of iron turned toward them as if it has a will of its own. Gorio stared to the side and saw that the same iron storm was blowing from the next ship, which was supposed to be far away, and attacking Gorio's men who had dispersed.

"I can't believe it... what kind of monsters are these!?"

But even with both units combined, their own losses seemed to be as little as 500 men. There were still over 5.000 men left. The rest of the troops will attack from both flanks at once, and even that huge ship will surely be able to be subdued.

"If we do so... we will repay you many times over for what you have paid us so far!!"

She pushed forward, determined to avenge those who have died. The 6.000 Italician winged warriors were still flying to the Azuchi despite the onslaught of the CIWS from the escort ships.
