heeseung held his breath as the large screen in front of him flashed a flickering dot, as if looking for something in specific.
he was — well, they were. lee was sat beside dr huang at her large desk, the two sat in pure silence as the nerves of whether or not they'd find jieun or not was in their hands.
two lives were at risk. and it was up to them to save them.
heeseung had the members on call, jungwon fast asleep, tucked away in what felt like a ton of blankets. no matter how badly jay wanted to take off a few, in fear of the boy suffering some sort of asphyxiation, he knew jungwon would wake up and request for them to do so in any case of it happening, so all he could do was sit and stare.
minutes passed before heeseung jumped in his seat at dr huang's sudden gasp. "what is it?"
the shock running through her veins allowed her to do nothing more than to point to a flashing dot on the screen before them, her eyes wide as her hand slightly shook.
so many years in this profession yet she'd never grown so attached to anyone she's worked with. maybe because jieun and jungwon were an unexpected pair — she'd guessed it'd just remain a mystery for the rest of her life.
heeseung stared at the screen for a few seconds, mouth slightly hung open as he couldn't believe his eyes.
they'd finally gotten a distinct signal from jieun — they could see where she was.
the official hybe security team was called, seeing as they'd gone through both police and swat team training prior to becoming employed under the company. dr huang had captured a screenshot of the location, sending it to the team's management and putting the rest of the process in security's hands.heeseung said a silent prayer, still having not told the boys what they'd seen to not give anyone a false sense of hope — just in case something else went wrong.
the team was quick in arriving at the location dr huang had sent out, given it was only half an hour away from the boys' dorm.
the commander stood in front of the line, right by the front door as he waited for his team to get situated. once he received the okay, he knocked down the door.
the entire break-in was a bit of a blur for the team. all they could remember after the fact was rushing through the now broken steel door— the commander silently cursing in pain throughout the next thirty minutes, feeling as if they'd been put into a maze with how confusing the structure of the home was, some holding back tears at the sight of the unconscious, severely malnourished jieun chained to a pole in that cold, concrete room, and the others fighting a girl who couldn't have been over the age of seventeen.
