Saturn was often referred to as the jewel of the solar system. Now that I'd met her, I understood why.

Watching her in Professor Brown's class had become one of my favourite daily occurrences. Today, I admired the shiny lip gloss she had added to her appearance. Her lips were already one of my favourite features of hers, but the gloss made them even more tempting. I wanted to suck it off of them.

Saturn was the reason I was so behind in Lit, but she was also the reason I was there. It was my own fault for watching her rather than being present in the lesson, but failing the course was worth seeing her each day. Besides, perhaps with Saturn's help, I would manage to comprehend the content by the end of the semester.

I could almost always tell when Saturn was daydreaming. Today, it has happened twice already. Her expression would go blank, and she would stop noting Professor Brown's lesson in her neat handwriting. Her eyes would flutter as she resurfaced. And almost always, her gaze would fall upon me.

She was closer to me than usual today. Our energies combined were magnetic. Her chair was flush against mind. I contemplated reaching out and touching her. Partially to be amused by her reaction, and also because I could not bear to be so close to her without touching her.

Desire won. Electricity sparked. Saturn inhaled.

Fuck. I gathered my wits as she lost focus entirely, her thigh trembling against my palm. She was so receptive to my touch. It made me crave more.

When we were dismissed, I seized her hand before she could rush away from me. "Walk with me," I said softly. She obeyed.

"I don't have you scheduled this evening, correct?" I asked her.

Saturn shook her head. "No, why?"

"Neither do I," I said,

"Wednesdays are my day off. Would you like to study some more?" Midterms had since passed, but I still had much catching up to do.

Saturn thought for a moment. I worried she might tear her hand from my grasp at any second. She did not. She was finally okay with me claiming her as my own. "Sure," she agreed at last.

"Lovely," I grinned.

I had not invited Saturn to my room to study tonight. Part of me wished for her to come over so I could feel out boundaries. Tom and Darius would both be out late at rugby practice, so the space would be all ours. The protector in me begged me to prove myself worthy before attempting such things. Saturn was too pure to be obstructed by my own desire. Still, I yearned for her.

I released her hand outside the dining hall. I wasn't hungry, and besides, I could always eat later. I wanted to meet with Tom and Darius, and try to convince them to stay out later tonight to allow Saturn and I more privacy.

"Hi Cal," Darius greeted me, lounging on his bed. Darius was broad, burly, and stern. Tom was the opposite; small and witty. I enjoyed both of their company, but sometimes, I wished for my own place. Like tonight, for example, when I planned on making Saturn scream my name.

"What's with you?" Tom asked, standing in the doorway of the bathroom.

"Nothing," I muttered, shaking my head to clear it, "I was just wondering how late your practice goes to tonight?"

Tom smirked. "What, do you have big plans or something?"

"No," I replied slowly, "I was just wondering."

"Eight o'clock," Darius answered my question, "but we can make that nine, if you give us a fair reason."

"Oh, he has a fair reason," Tom interjected, "have you seen that girl he's been bringing round lately? Total smoke show, she is."

"Easy," I said warningly. Saturn was not a smoke show. She was a goddess. And she was my goddess.

"Woah, you're so protective of her already," Tom noticed, "when are you going to let her in on your little secret, Cal? She'll miss having you around once you're gone."

I felt the strong urge to strangle Tom. "You make it sound like I may never come back," I spat.

Tom shrugged. I sighed. Although training was mentally and physically agonizing, there was a very low likelihood of me dying during it. Saturn didn't need to worry herself over my issues. I would finish serving my time, then go on with my life. Saturn would never have to know.

"So are you planning on shagging her tonight?" Tom asked. Darius smirked. This wasn't at all funny.

"Stay out until nine," I requested, "I don't want either of you messing this up for me."

"What, you think we'll scare her off?" Tom pretended to be offended.

"Yes," I said with exasperation. They would scare Saturn off. I didn't need either of them corrupting her with their inappropriate remarks.

"Relax, mate, we'll stay out," Darius promised, "but keep the shagging to a minimum by the time we return. I need to get some sleep."

I rolled my eyes. "Thank you both," I said, "so considerate." I turned on my heel, and escaped to my room. Sometimes, my friends were tolerable. Today, they were not. But somehow, their thoughts on my intentions with Saturn were almost correct.

I intended on giving her the night of her life.
