Saturn
• • •

The streets of the village welcomed me with as much allure as they had my very first time. Street lamps illuminated our nightly stroll in a warm shade of yellow, mimicking the setting Sun.

The term was over. We were free to simply exist together, wandering, and exploring everything our love had to offer.

The bookshop glimmered among the shops of the village, as though encrusted with magic. It was magic.

It was where Calvin and I had fallen in love.

He stopped me just outside, a yearning in his gaze. "This is an important day, Saturn."

I cocked my head. "How so?"

Taking my hands, he failed to answer my question. "Where are you staying over the summer?" he asked, "are you going home?"

"I suppose I hadn't thought of that," I realized, "but Kenton is my home. I have no where else to go, and no where else I would want to be."

"I see," Calvin replied, "I may have just the solution for you."

Before burning questions could spill from my lips, Calvin led me into the shop.

"We can't live in the shop, Cal," I chuckled, though I would have liked very much to do so. Perhaps we could find a bed small enough to fit in the back room...

I was torn out of my wonderings, behind the front desk and to the back of the shop. We turned towards the guest washrooms. It was then that I noticed a dark oaken door, one that I'd managed to overlook many times in the past.

Calvin's eyes flashed with mystery. And then, we took the stairs beyond the door up to heaven.

An apartment, small but quaint, lived above the shop all this time. How had I never known? It was stunning of course, like everything on Campus was. It was mildly decorated with wooden finishes and a bed with a handmade white quilt. I needed a sprinkling of Saturn, I thought. I envisioned Calvin's telescope in the window, and him sitting at it. I noticed an empty bookshelf on the far wall, which I would need to fill with books from downstairs and some of my own. I could practically see Nova curling up on the white quilt, looking her dark fur beautiful stark against it. She would love in the shop with us, wandering downstairs when she pleased and making new friends in our customers.

The space ignited my wild imagination. It was absolutely incredible.

"What do you think?" Calvin murmured, bringing me to the bed.

"I adore it." I collapsed onto the bed and sighed. It was even softer than it looked.

Calvin joined me as I gazed up at the ceiling. He was much too busy looking at me. A kiss met my cheek, and I turned my head to meet Calvin's eager lips. They moved slower than usual. Carefully, and with control. As though he were communicating to me that we had all the time in the world to enjoy each other.

"Does this mean we're moving in together?" I whispered, pulling back momentarily.

Calvin answered me with another smirking kiss. I was lost under his adoration for many moments before he allowed me to resurface. "Would like you to move in with me, my Saturn?"

I drew him in closer to me but the collar of his shirt. "There's nothing I want more than to spend every moment of forever with you."

It was then that we embarked upon an endless night of love making in our new home. Wet, sloppy kisses. Desperate sounds, sharing our pleasure with one another. Crashing bodies, like waves in the calmest sea. Like two planets, dancing in the night.

I wanted to marry him right then and there, as nakedly entwined on our new bed. Marry him, and spend all my life with him. And my dream would come true, I knew it would.

We would live in this bliss for eternity. Saturn and her Sun.

In our tiny corner of the universe.
