Chapter 40

   "The second selection has now begun," ego spoke, "in the first selection, you grew from level 0 to level 1. From now on, using state-of-the-art training facilities, you'll grow from level 1 to level 100."

   I wonder how long that'll take... you thought to yourself.

   "The second selection consists of five stages," ego continued speaking, "only those who cleared previous stages are allowed to move on. Your first objective is to clear the first stage. And those of you who do pass the second selection will participate in a training camp with some of the world's best players that I have hand picked."

   You looked around the room and locked eyes with nagi for a few seconds before quickly returning your focus to ego.

   "And that's everything regarding the second selection. Form up on your own." Ego ordered, "only those who are mentally prepared... enter the gate to the second selection individually."

   You felt butterflies fluttering around in your stomach and you pursed your lips.

   "The first stage is individual." Ego spoke up, "once you enter, you wont be able to return. If you don't make it to the next stage, you won't see anyone from here again."

   You felt extremely nervous.

   If I don't make it then... i wont be able to see team Z again... my career will be over...  call me greedy but there's no way in hell im gonna stop now, You grabbed a ball and walked over to the area for the second selection.

   Seeing that you were the first to go, you inhaled deeply and turned to face the others in the fifth stratum.

   "You idiots better not give up now," you spoke as you left for the second stage.

   "YOU BETTER PASS THE SECOND SELECTION!!" Raichi yelled, "OR I'LL KILL YA!"

   You laughed as everyone from team z said goodbye.

   The door shut behind you as you walked into a completely new room.

   The walls are made of panels... i suppose i have to wait... you thought, taking a look at the room.

   Suddenly, a ball flew out from the wall and a strange entity appeared in the room with you.

Meanwhile in the basement waiting area thing...

   Everyone watched as another guy walked towards the area for second selection.

   "Talk about cowards... letting yourselves get outdone by a woman." The somewhat pretty boy with dark hair spoke.

   Everyone stared in awe as he kicked two balls into the air at different times as they both collided.

   "I'm done warming up." The boy finished speaking as he continued to the second selection.

   "Wh- this guy..." igaguri shuddered, "he's... way better than i am..."

   With that, everyone became worried at the challenges to come. However, the rest of team Z seeing Isagi leave made them realize that they would have to part ways at some point.

   "Let's play a game of Rock Paper Scissors to decide who leaves first." Kuon suggested.

   And so that's what the team did.

   With that, everyone parted ways one at a time.

Author's note: hey!! I have some good news today!!! Two wonderful people have volunteered to make Spanish and Russian translations for this fanfiction! I'm so happy that this story can reach nagi enjoyers from other cultures!! As such, I will be putting links to their stories in the prologue & description once they begin being published! With that being said, the question for today is: who is the better duo? Nagi and isagi or bachira and isagi? I don't have a preference since isagi plays well with both nagi and bachira!
