Why Are We (Jimin ff 16+)

"Hey, don't cry !" A voice reached the little kid's ears . He was phased by the voice ,his tears stopped for a while, and he took time to stare at the person.

"Strong people don't cry ; are you weak?" She said, looking at the small person sitting on the ground in the rain ,all drenched in water .

The kid looked at her smile, but something was there in her eyes , comforting him.He looked up to her . She extended a hand towards him. She pulled him up.

He was silent. "If you don't want to be weak , be strong ,weak people are not for this world , so make sure you are strong. Don't give up. What is your name?"

"Park Jimin...." he spoke after silence . He forgot everything for a moment . Looking at the girl's patience who came to save her in the rain out of nowhere and said something trivial maybe , but just enough to change his mood for the day , he didn't know what she said would be so deeply encarved in him.

"If you ever feel sad, pat yourself and say 'I am doing great ' and
smile." she padded his shoulder , patted his head, and smiled.

He rubbed his tears in the rain and nodded his head.
"What happened ?" She asked.
He fell silent and looked down ;his eyes became teary again. He patted him again

She spoke, "It's okay ,if you can't say it, it's bad if it made you sad , your mom will scold you if you catch cold , so go back in and if anyone scolds you ,tell me , when i become a lawyer i will make sure i punish the bad guys so that they will never make you sad again!!"

"They say my mom became star and will come back a long, long time later , but I know they will not ." He spoke after silence in the slightest volume possible audible.

"Hmm , ok so you know being the star she will be able to see everything , so if you don't want her to be sad dont cry and be strong , she will cry then , do you want her to?"

He shook his head . All he ever got was pity after the incident occurred . Everyone looked at him with eyes full of pity . The first time he felt that he was not being pitied but was being told of what should be done , the first time he could look for a way instead of helplessness and pathless in someone's eyes. The assurance comforted that ten year old kid.
"So you don't think I am pitiful ?" He asked, looking down
She shook her head , "No you are strong ,really really strong , so if you ever feel weak i will protect you ,always , so run and come to me , if you are too weak , then i will come to you " she smiled again

He looked up with the teary eyes and spoke
"Promise?" And extended his pinky finger

"Promise," they did pinky promise.

"You won't go even when we grow up ? When two people do pinky promise ,they live together, my mom told me she and dad did pinky promise. We have to marry " he spokerubbing his teary eyes

She laughed. "No, they don't have to necessarily , but since I will protect you ,I will always be there for you and even marry you."

"So will you cry from now on?"

He shook his head.

"Good boy!!" She pecked his forehead and smiled

"I will also smile ; you will also smile when you are sad !! That way, we both will seem strong , and the people who hurt you will be disappointed. "

He looked at her red cheecks and was caught off guards and nodded her head .
After a minute silence, she freaked out and was scared when she heard a faint voice ....

"Where are you ?!!"

"My mom will kill me." she spoke with terror in her eyes. "I forgot to tell why I ran till here in rain." She was going to go when he asked
"Your name ?"

"My name is......" she spoke while running . He could barely hear.

But the little kid will never probably forget her help that day. He smiled and returned to his home.
