"Tatianayi?" I stop my movements of catching fish in the reef as I heard a woman call my name behind me, slowly making her way over.

I turn around, swinging my spear in my hand as I face her.

"Neytiri." I nod my head, placing my spear up so I didn't seem threatening.

She sighed as she made her way into the water, standing next to me as she watched me continue to try stab the fish.

"How did you do it, my child?" I turn to look up at her, a confused look on my face. "Fit in? Everyone here has so much... hatred."

"I didn't." I answer, shrugging. "But you're one of the leaders here?"

Neytiri wrapped her arms around herself, looking towards some of the people.

"They left me out. To them, I'm a half breed, a disgrace and not true Na'vi. So, they left me out a lot. I wasn't even given a home, I live in the trees, I built a hut by myself. They left me out during training so I watched and taught myself how to do it better."

I explain as she watches me with a curious eye.

"You've really made no friends at all here?" Neytiri asked sadly and I nodded. "I guess I was friends with Tsireya for a while, until her brother got in the way."

"Ao'nung?" I confirmed with a nod. "You're promised to him." Neytiri sighed as she realised.

I whined. "He's an ass. And I hate his guts! I'd rather kill myself than live the rest of my life with him and have his children, blagh." I gaged at the thought which made Neytiri laugh and my dramatics.

"I was promised to your fathers eldest brother after my sister passed. But I fell in love with another." She placed a hand on my shoulder. "It's still your choice."

I sit on the roots of a old willow tree, looking out at the ocean as the moonlight reflected gently across it, softly hitting my face.

I was on a separate island to the main one, this one had a small forest where I hunted for food.

Neytiri was right. I still did have a choice.

Although I knew that it the Omatikaya people could wait however long until they mated.
