Tatianayi and Neteyam walked along the beach back towards the village as they both shared stories.
"And then I crashed into the mountains and my mother wouldn't let me ride for a month." Neteyam laughed as he demonstrated his disaster with his arms and body movement. The girl laughed, kicking the water that moved around her feet.
"I've always wondered what it would be like to tame an Ikran. I mean, I have Taysein and he is like my brother but he was given to me by my father." The boy gently smiled, looking over at the girl. "It's one of the best things, except from when they try to kill you and slam you into mountains."
Tatia giggled and hummed, her pearl white teeth shining in the afternoon light. His smile fell as he noticed her one did, turning to look in her line of vision. That's when he noticed Ao'nung walking over with an angry expressing plastered on his face.
"You go ahead." Tatia ordered as she looked down at the floor, stopping her trail. Neteyam was unsure but did as he was told, carrying on walking towards Ao'nung who bashed his shoulder against Neteyam's arm.
"Watch it forest freak!" He spat making Neteyam look at the boy with an angered expression. He turned his body and stopped walking as he now watched the ocean boy and Tatia talk. Neteyam wouldn't leave without her, not feeling comfortable with leaving her with such an ignoration and selfish boy who wanted her for himself.
Ao'nung walked over to Tatia who kept her head down, slightly bowing as she saw his lower half. "Where were you all day, huh?" The girl gulped at his words, slowly looked up and glancing at Neteyam who looked as if he were about to murder.
"I was training the new boy, your father insisted it was me who trains him." Ao'nung let out an angry noise of protest. "What about me, Tatianayi? Huh? It's my birthday and you're off with that freak."
"He's not a freak!" Tatia angrily whispered but gulped as she did when Ao'nung took a step closer. "So what if he isnt? You're mine, Tatianayi, not his." Ao'nung grabbed her wrist and she tried to pull it back but his grip only tightened.
She would retaliate but she couldn't. If Ao'nung exaggerated and changed the situation to be worse then he could tell Tonowari and she'd lose everything she had built for herself. "In five weeks, you're officially and forever mine. You don't get a say in it because now I'm 18, I could ruin everything for you."
