"Tatiana!" Tsireya shouts my name as I walked along the beach with a few spears. "Reya." I nod my head as she jogs up to me.
"I was wondering-" "No." I answered, not letting her finish her sentence. "You don't even know what I was going to say!"
She put her hands out in a silent beg which caused me to roll my eyes. "Fine. Go on."
"I was wondering, if you wanted to help me, Ao'nung and Rotxo teach the new kids to breathe underwater."
I raised my eyebrows with a 'You serious right now?' look which causes her to sigh. "Please?"
Looking over her head which I was able to do from towering over her, I saw Neteyam watching us although he quickly looked away when I caught his gaze.
"I'd rather them drown." I speak, turning back around to walk away but was stopped when she grabbed my wrist.
"As the chiefs daughter I order you to." Tsireya had a smirk on her face, thinking she won which caused me to laugh in amusement.
"You do realise you're not 18 yet, and that means as the leader of the warriors I have more power over you here, Princess. It's a no." I smile proudly as I remove myself from her grip.
I continue to walk, catching Neteyam's gaze once again but he doesn't look away this time, only smirking and nodding his head as he did the 'I see you' sign.
"Hey, Tatia."
The other's snapped their heads at him with frightened looks on their faces and Ao'nung smacked his arm.
"Bye, Shxawng."
Neteyam's POV:
I watched her talk to the chief's daughter, Tsireya, using my hearing to listen in on their conversation.
She knew her place, and she was proud to have that place.
I know that she said that she would rather watch us drown, but I would drown myself for her, just to see her smile which I was yet to see.
