Na'vi danced around the bonfire that was set in honor of Ao'nung for his 18th birthday. People were singing and dancing to the music as Tatianayi sat down on one of the logs, playing with her knife.
Neteyam was sitting with his family as he looked over at the girl. Not once in the 4 hours had she gotten up to dance with the other girls, not even when Ao'nung tried to force her up to dance with him.
She looked miserable, her knees brought to her chest as she looked at the bow in her hands. The forest boy felt sad for her, wishing he could go over but he couldn't. Not while he was with his family as they sat round with everyone for the celebration of Ao'nungs birthday the next day.
"Mommy, look!" Tuk bounced in her seat, grabbing onto Neteyam and Neytiri's arm as she pointed at some of the girls that were doing a traditional dance. "It's called a Hula." Neytiri informed her daughter. "These dances have different meanings as do the ones back at home, just different styles."
"Can you do it, Kiri?" Tuk questioned her sister who scoffed, wrapping a blanket round her. "No." The younger girl frowned as she watched the girls again. "If you want to learn it, why don't you go to Tatianayi, she looks like she could need a bit of cheering up."
That's when the rest of the family turned to the mixed girl at Neytiri's words. Unlike in her warrior clothing, she wore a cropped, no sleeve top made from rope and sea shells and her long skirt made from the leaves of the palm trees with white flowers. A white flower crown was placed on her head as well as a flower necklace. Her wrists and ankles had bracelets of flowers also whereas the other girls, except Tsireya, wore just the traditional top and skirt.
The white flowers complimented her skin perfectly as she sat in the moonlight. Neteyam could only think how beautiful she looked.
Tuk smiled, jumping off her seat and began walking towards the warrior. Looking back at her family nervously, playing with her hands behind her back, they gave her a smile and thumbs up which made her have enough confidence to sit next to the girl.
"Hi!"
Tatia looked at the girl who smiled brightly. "I'm Tuk!" The older girl smiled back slightly. "Tatianayi, but you can call me Tatiana." Tuk smiled widely as did her eyes as she looked at the girls flower crown. "That's so pretty."
"You think?" Tatia questioned, taking it off her head to she the girl who ran her fingers over the white flowers. "Here." Lifting it up again, Tatia placed it over the girl's head and let it fall around her neck as it was too big for it to rest on her own head. "See, you look beautiful."
