C H A P T E R 30

"Blue hurry up or I'm leaving."

"You're telling me to hurry up but you aren't even wearing your shoes." I told him as I applied mascara on my other eyelash, looking at the mirror.

"That's because I'm waiting for you to finish." Kenny said sitting on the bed folding his arms.

"See? I'm done." I said as I put the mascara down and turned to him. "now I'm the one waiting for you to put on your shoes. And I'm not complaining."

Kenny sighed and put on his shoes. I can't blame him, he's been waiting for me to get ready for half an hour now. He was already in his black suit and ready to go to work. We decided he'd take me to work this morning.

I was in my police uniform, I haven't been to the station in four days. Kenny doesn't know that because he always leaves earlier than me. Being at the station is depressing as hell, but I have go to keep my cover before I get suspicious.

Kenny finished putting on his shoes and we went down the stairs.
"Did you take the pill ?" Kenny asked me as soon as we got to the kitchen.

"Oh my gosh I almost forgot it ! Gimme two seconds." I said as I ran up the stairs and went to our bedroom.

I opened a drawer and took out the morning after pills. I rushed back downstairs and found Kenny holding a glass of water for me. I took one pill out and drank it along water Kenny gave me.

I put the glass inside the sink and opened the tap. I closed the tap again and turned to Kenny. "You like taking risks don't you ?" Kenny chuckled as we got out of the apartment.

"I said I forgot it." I chuckled. "Thanks for reminding me."

"Don't worry, we're in this together." He kissed my forehead as we got to the elevators.

Kenny and I got out when the elevators reached the underground garage.

"Aren't you taking up people's parking space with four cars in here ?" I asked him as we got to his Mercedes Benz SL63. His cars were at the far end of the garage and they were close together, this was one of the most expensive apartments so obviously most people living here have cars.

"Well I pay for the parking in here and it's free, they can park somewhere else." He said as he opened the door for me and I got inside.

"So the parking comes with the apartment ?" I asked him as he got inside and started the car.

"Yeah. You own an apartment in here, you get a parking spot. I have to pay for the other three spots."

"Oh.. but don't the others need the parking spots you've occupied ?"

"They do." He chuckled. " Blue I'm a man of the law but we both know in the world we live in, money talks."

"Oh my gosh don't ever say that in public." I laughed. "You sound like a corrupt cop."

He joined in as well and let's just say the whole ride was filled with laughter and joy. I was comfortable around him. I could be the craziest version of myself or the most annoying version of myself and he'd still put up with me. He let me be myself around him and I was at my happiest place when I'm with him. He brings out the best in me. Too bad everytime he occupies my thoughts, there's always that one thought. That voice that keeps reminding me that this won't last long, this will soon be over and I can't do nothing about it.

"Hi I'm here to open a case against someone." A girl who looked like a glitter monster just threw up on her. Jeez she was wearing too much pink.

"Uhh.. on which allegations ?" I asked her as I took the new cases book to write everything down and took the recorder to record her statement.

"Defamation of character." She said as she flipped her hair. "My ex best friend has literally been spreading fake rumours about me and my boyfriend. Like who does that ?"
