Five days.

Five fucking long days since I felt a slight sting of disappointment realising that his bed was empty, a tantalizing musky scent left on the sheets. At first, his rejection was unsettling, but that unease gradually turned into resentment with a sprinkle of hatred as the days passed by.

The most interaction between us being the awkward glances shared when he comes to fetch or bring the kids. Yesterday he didn't even get inside the house, told the twins something about him rushing to work.

I was done with him, I am done with him. If he thinks he can be hostile whenever he likes and be civil with me whenever he likes, then he's got another thing coming. I'm done taking his shit. I made a mistake, who doesn't ? But I won't let that be held against me for the rest of my life. I won't spend the rest of my life trying to please him because of guilt. Kenny thinks he can just use me and toss me on the side when he's done, when his needs are satisfied.

Took him five years for his resentment against me to grow ? Well it only took me five days.

"This is not you, this is the wine talking."

"No Madds, this is me talking. This is Blue talking." I looked at her. "This is Blue finally saying ENOUGH, I'm done with this. I'm done with him. Kenny can go fuck himself for all I care."

He isn't going to act like a saint, not at my expense. If he's so perfect that he hasn't done a single mistake he'll forever regret, then he and his perfections can go to hell. I'm done taking shit from him because of a mistake I did years ago.

"Anyway, enough about me." I forked my salad. "Catch me up on your life."

I've been complaining about my problems ever since we got here. It's been me talking about my chaotic life, I feel selfish. I feel like it's always me burdening my best friend with all my problems.

"Well.. Adam and I are throwing a combined bachelor/bachelorette party." Maddie smiled putting her glass of wine on the table.

My eyebrows raised as I looked at her "What ?"

"Relax, you'll still be able to throw me a separate bachelorette party as my maid of honour." She chuckled and I felt myself relax. "This is like me and Adam celebrating our engagement with our close friends."

"You know you could've just said engagement party right ?" I looked at her with a bored expression.

"That's the thing, when you think of engagement party, you think formal wear, formal dining, toasts and speeches." She replied. "We don't wanna do that. We were thinking of a fun night out in a club or something. Strippers, body shots, dancing, sexual games, literally everything you'd find in a bachelor party. You know... let loose and be reckless for the night."

"Oh, my, gosh. Who are you and what have you done to my best friend ?" I asked, mouth hung open.

"You're so dramatic. Adam and I aren't that boring." She said and we both laughed.

"What did I miss ?" Max said pulling a chair to sit down. I didn't even see him coming inside the restaurant. We've been waiting for him to arrive for thirty minutes now. Until we finally decided to order and eat without him, now he shows up.

"Blue's finally moving on from Kenny." Maddie answered looking at me. Well wether she believes it or not, it's true.

"What ?" Max asked suprised.

"And Maddie wants strippers and body shots at her engagement party."

"What ?!" Max's eyes widened again and we both laughed at his reaction.
