I just felt like a whole weight had been lifted off my shoulders after Charlotte and I fixed things. I'm glad Kenny convinced me to come. And I know he's happy that I'm getting along with the only two people he considers family in this world.
"So you're the Kiara that makes my son wanna get a haircut every week ?" Charlotte folded her arms, looking at Kiara.
"No I'm not. I didn't tell Matteo to get a haircut every week." Her eyebrows furrowed. "Did I tell you that Matteo ?" She asked diverting her eyes to an embarrassed Matteo who shaked his head.
"Mom!" He warned and Charlotte laughed.
"I was just asking." She raised her hands in surrender and looked back at Kiara. "You're very cute."
"Thank you." She smiled.
I looked around and my gaze finally landed on who I was looking for. Kai was standing on the deck alone while looking at the ocean. I excused myself from everyone and headed to his direction.
I stood infront of him, resting my elbows on top of the rails and looked ahead. We were in the middle of the ocean so it was just the view of the water and nothing else. This part of the ship had more fresh air, it was peaceful and relaxing. "You wanna go back to the hotel room ?"
"No." He replied staring ahead.
"I can see you don't wanna be here. Just say the words and we'll go."
"I don't wanna be here but I also don't wanna leave because you guys are enjoying the party. I don't want to ruin that for you."
I chuckled. "I appreciate the honesty." I looked at him, leaning my back on the rails. "You know what I think ?"
"Mmhh ?"
"I think you've finally found your match." I continued. "You're so used to being in control and being the boss.. but now Matteo challenges that, and you don't like it. Just like you, it's his way or no way. You don't like him because he's exactly like you."
"He isn't like me. I'm Matteo and I'm turning five." He mimicked, scrunching his face. "I'm turning five next year but you don't see me singing to everyone about it."
I laughed looking at his scrunched face. I knew Kai is stubborn, but to this extent ?
Well atleast I tried."Wow you're stubborn." I chuckled.
"I wonder where I got that from."
"Did you just use sarcasm on me ?" My mouth hung open as my eyes widened.
He laughed. "No, I was just asking."
He turned to look at Matteo, Kiara and two other kids who were playing on the pinatas.
"I think I'm gonna play with the others now." He smiled and signalled me to crouch down. I bent down and he kissed my cheek. "Thanks mom. I love you."
Did I really get through him ? This was easier than I thought..
"I love you too baby."

"Are you really wearing that ?"
"It's a pool party Kenny! You expecting me to wear tracksuits ?" I arched my eyebrow.
"Button the shorts then." He said and I rolled my eyes buttoning my high waisted shorts.
I don't know what's the point of going to a pool party if I'm not gonna walk around in bikinis and sunglasses. I wore my yellow swimsuit bra and bikini, black high waisted jean shorts and flip flops. If I wanted I could easily dump the shorts, and he's still complaining.
