C H A P T E R 51

Blue's POV.

I blankly stared at Kenny, unable to even blink, my heart beating rapidly with the shock of his words sinking in. He explained why Kai has been distant and I couldn't even get a word out.

My own son saw me cry. His habits make so much sense to me now. Kai rotates between sleeping with me and sleeping with Kiara in their room. I never thought anything about it until now. Kai saw me the nights I cried myself to sleep, that's why he insists on sleeping with me. He sees every little thing, and here I am thinking he's still young to notice.

I don't remember a day I cried infront of him or his sister, but I won't deny the sleepless nights. I've had my fair share of depression these past years, but I've always made sure my kids don't see that. I'm always composed and emotionally available when I'm with them.

The nights I cried myself to sleep thinking about Kenny, I would always make sure not a single frown stays on my face the next morning. I always thought I was doing a good job hiding my pain from them. Guess I wasn't doing enough, because Kai still noticed everything.

Then he let me continue telling them the dad's-saving-the-world story. He just kept quiet knowing very well I was lying to them. He let me continue with my lie like he knows nothing. When did he even see the picture of Kenny and I ? Why didn't he say anything ?

I just have a lot on my mind right now, but I need to make sure Kai knows that his parent's separation wasn't Kenny's fault. If anyone had to be blamed, then it's me. If he had to hate anyone for his father not being present, then it should be me, not Kenny.

I finally blinked as I snapped from my daze. "I.. I'll talk to him." I sighed running my hands through my hair. "I'll explain everything, don't worry about it." I told him and he nodded getting inside his car.

He pulled away from the mansion and I went back inside the house. I went upstairs to the twins' room and found Yvonne helping them put on their Pyjamas.

Kiara told Yvonne and I all about her day and what she did and how much fun she had. We even fitted Mimi her new clothes as she kept going non stop about her day with Matteo's uncle. I need to tell her Kenny's her father.

"It's time to go to sleep now, Yada will read you the bedtime story." I kissed her cheek tucking her in. "You're sleeping with me tonight ?" I asked Kai and he replied with a yes.

"Great, cause I need to talk to you." I said and instantly Kiara laughed.

"You're in trouble." She said still laughing and I heard Yvonne let out a chuckle on the book shelf.

"What did I do now ?" He asked taking his teddy bear to go along with.

"Why do you always assume you did something ?" I smiled at him as we headed to the door.

"Because I always do something."

"Ohhh, so you know when you do something ?" I raised my eyebrow my and he shrugged his shoulders.

"Blue." Yvonne called before we got out the door and I turned to look at her.

She smiled looking at me. "I'm glad he's back."

I forced back a smile and nodded before Kai and I got out. So even Yvonne knows who Kenny is ?

We got to my room which was next to theirs, I closed the door and went inside my closet to change into my pyjamas. He was already tucked in when I got back inside the room so I joined him getting under the blankets.

"Are you okay ?" I asked as I kissed his cheek and he nodded a yes. He does a lot of nodding these days.

"Okay Kai, what is Kiara's favourite bedtime story ?"
