It was Friday afternoon after school."So, what's the plan for this weekend?" Sunoo asked us.
"Yeah! We should hangout. Movies? Arcade? Bowling?" Niki suggested.
"The arcade sounds fun." Heeseung replied.
"I can't this weekend." I said. Everyone looked at me with a disappointed face.
"Why? Is there really something more important than me?" Sunoo said as I rolled my eyes, smiling.
"I have an ice skating competition tomorrow."
"You're a figure skater?" Heeseung asked me.
"Since I was 5."
"Hey, we should go to your competition." Niki said.
"I'm really not that good though.." I started to say.
"Doesn't matter, I still want to support and cheer for you." Heeseung said, looking into my eyes.
Sunoo and Niki then shared a look.
"Well, um, we have soccer practice tonight, right Heeseung?" Sunoo said.
"Oh, right. I'll see you later tonight then, y/n." Heeseung said to me.
What? Did he just say 'tonight'? Is he trying to expose us??
"O-oh, um, y-yeah!" Okay, I don't think they will notice.

Heeseung's POV :
Oh shit.
Sunoo, Niki, and I started walking down to the field.
"Heeseung?" Sunoo asked me.
"What?"
"Are you going to explain what just happened?" They both looked at me suspiciously.
"W-what do you mean?" They couldn't have caught that. Right?
"'I'll see you later tonight', you just said that to y/n. Are you guys dating or something?" Niki interrogated.
"W-what? N-no, we aren't dating." I said as I looked towards the ground.
"You guys totally are!" Sunoo said excitedly.
"Sunoo, we aren't dating" I said.
"Well you at least like her though, right?" NIki said.
"What do you mean?" I looked up at them.
"Well, for one, it's totally obvious. You protect her from bullies, and even walk her home from work." Wait, what?
"How do you know about that last one?" I asked.
"Y/n told us a couple days ago." So, she talks about me?
I smiled to myself but I think Sunoo caught me blushing.
"You should totally ask her out!"
"I'll think about it."
Should I really? What if she doesn't see me that way?

Y/n's POV :
I started heading to the ice skate center with my skate bag and my clothes. I entered the building and walked over to where my locker is.
"Y/n, you're late," a familiar voice said behind me.
"Sunghoon, practice starts in 6 minutes, I'm not late." I said to the tall blonde hair boy.
"But we always do our 10 minute warmup together and we are missing that right now." He said pouting.
"We can skip for one day, we'll be fine Sunghoon," I chuckled.
—
I glided onto the ice and skated a few laps to warm up quickly before starting to practice. Park Sunghoon, my skating partner, and one of my best friends. We've been close every since him and my brother started hanging out. He looks out for me, and I try to do the same.
"Okay, tomorrow is your competition. Run through your performance and I'll give feedback afterwards," our instructor said.
Sunghoon and I have won many competitions in the past, but ever since I got dumped, we haven't been winning much and I blame it all on myself.
Sunghoon and I started as the music played. We glided across the ice smoothly as he occasionally picked me up for a leap or let go of me for some turns.
Skating makes me feel safe. Skating with Sunghoon makes me feel safe. Like home.—
After we finished, our instructor came over to us.
"Sunghoon, that was amazing! I'd say you are more than ready for tomorrow," he smiled at her compliment. "Y/n, may I speak to you in private?"
Sunghoon glanced at me. "O-oh, sure." I said.
She took me over to the side of the wall.
"Y/n, do you expect to perform like that? It's honestly humiliating for our team. Sunghoon outperforms you every time."
Tears started forming.
"I-I'm sorry. I'm trying as hard as I can," I stuttered.
"Well, not hard enough. What happened? You used to be the star of my team. You need to get it together Y/n, or you might not perform at nationals." She said as she walked away.
I froze.
I couldn't do or say anything.
Not perform at nationals?
Nationals is my dream.
I stood there as my tears started to fall.
I tried not to sob loudly as other team members were practicing.
I heard skates coming over to where I was standing and felt arms wrap around me.
I cried harder.
"It's okay, y/n. Everything will be okay."
Sunghoon.
I've heard those words many times before.
Not just from Sunghoon.
But from people who has left me before.
I hated hearing those words.
They were never true.
They were just pitiful lies.
It made me feel hopeless.
Will everything really be okay?
