"What happened?" I asked without looking over at him. Jake also avoided eye contact as he kept his eyes on the road.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

The way Jake and Heeseung interacted back in the hallway was very awkward. I could feel the tension between them.

"Like, what's up with you and Heeseung? You guys act so...you know, weird." I didn't understand why they acted like enemies.

I've never seen them together let alone hang out with each other. Yet, they become cold when they are in the same room.

"Heeseung...y/n he isn't the person you might think he is." He started. I looked over at him waiting for him to continue explaining.

"And?" I asked. He sighed, not wanting to explain further.

"I already know he vapes. What else is there?" I said.

"It's not that." He pulled up to park in front of the dorm building. "I knew Heeseung before he came to this school."

I turned to him. "Really? How did you know him?"

"We used to be family friends. But not anymore." He said slowly.

"So, what happened?"

"I used to have a girlfriend before, you know, and became a so called 'player' or whatever everyone calls it."

I remember Sunghoon told me at the coffee shop. Guess it really is true. What a bummer.

"He betrayed me by going behind my back and got with her without me knowing. When I had found out, he didn't feel bad one bit."

I sat in silence. Rain drops began to drop onto the windows of the car.

"Heeseung is a real player. First he gets you to trust him, then breaks you without a hint of sympathy. He's a fucking terrible person and you shouldn't be with him." He said, now looking into my eyes.

His eyes showed some concern for me. It made me want to believe him.

"I'm not with Heeseung." I said.

"He knows what he's doing. He's done it many times before. You are his target right now and he won't stop until your his." Jake held my hand in his.

"I know you share a dorm with him, y/n."

What?

How does he know? How did he figure that out?

My eyes widened at him.

"Don't worry, no one else knows. It was kind of obvious when you two walked home everyday."

A big relief just washed through me.

"Stay at my place for the time being. I don't know what Heeseung's plan is yet, but I know it won't do you any good." He said to me.

"Okay." I agreed slowly. A big part of me wants to believe him. But I don't even know what is going to happen next.

What does Heeseung want from me? What Jake had just told me made me even more curious.

Was everything Heeseung said and done for me not real? Was it all apart of his game?

Heeseung's pov:

The rain started to pour as I drove to the dorm. Y/n isn't here. Of course she's off with Sim Jake.

She shouldn't be with someone like him. Everyone knows he's a player. Why hasn't she realized it yet?

My phone started ringing as I pulled into park.

"Hello?"

"So this is your number, Lee Heeseung."

"Who is this?"

"Can't recognize my voice? What a shame. After everything we've been through together."

Yang Jungwon.

"What do you want?"

"I know how you're feeling right now. Sim Jake has taken y/n away from you. And you're upset and mad."

I stayed silent.

"I know you want y/n. She's your next target, right? Or have you really changed?" He chuckled.

"What the fuck do you want?"

"I want to make a deal with you. Are you hearing me out?"

I thought for a second.

Yang Jungwon. I've known him since our childhood days. You could say we are the best of friends. Or we were.

"Make it quick."

"You want Jake to leave y/n alone. Well, so do I."

"Not surprised."

"I know how we can get y/n to hate him for good. And, for you to get her all to yourself like you've always wanted."

"How?"

"The plan is simple and I'll tell you in person after you agree to the deal."

"What's in it for you?"

"You've always known I love money."

Of course I did. You wanna know why we aren't friends anymore? He used me for fucking money. 10 years of friendship wasted down the drain all for some loose paper.

"Whatever Jungwon. I'm not doing this." I wanted to decline. "I've changed now. I genuinely really like y/n. I'm not about to ruin my chances with her."

"Fine. Let Jake take y/n. You wont ever get a chance with her again."

I paused for a moment. The thought of y/n and Jake together made my blood boil.

Jungwon and I used to be friends along with Jake when we were growing up. We did everything together. Until money and greed took over Jungwon and truths came out as lies for Jake. We all ended up moving away but I somehow came to a new school and there they were. How unfortunate.

"So, what do you say?"

Deep down, I know who I am. I swore to never hurt anyone ever again this year. But I can't let y/n get hurt. Even so, everyone breaks promises once in a while. Guess I'll finally have to get back at Jake.

"Deal."
