My feet were slowly becoming sore but I didn't care. I kept riding my bike down to the airport hoping I wouldn't be too late. Thank god I was only a 10 minute ride away.

I ran inside once I arrived seeing that it was crowded with people. Of course I left my phone at home on my desk. Great thinking y/n.

My eyes darted through everyone hoping to see the one familiar face.

"Excuse me, miss. Are you in need of assistance?" I turned to see a staff member.

"Yes, um, where is the security gate at?"

"It will be down the hall to your left past the check-in desks."

"Thank you!" I said quickly before running down those directions.

I finally reached the security entrance to see a bunch of people waiting in line to enter. None were Sunghoon. I slowly walked and sat on a bench in front of the entrance. He's not here anymore. He's gone and I never got to say goodbye. Tears formed in my eyes as I brought my knees to my chest and buried my face in them.

"Y/n..?"

I looked up and saw a tall figure in front of me.

Sunghoon.

I immediately stood up and hugged him hard. "I thought you left. I thought you had already left me. I didn't get to say goodbye. I thought-"

"Shh. It's okay, I'm here." He patted the back of my head gently. "I would never leave without seeing you first."

We stayed like that for what seemed like forever. I wish it were forever. I cried even more. Sunghoon isn't suppose to be hurting me. He was always the 'tough guy' who protected me from everything.

"Y/n, I gotta go." He said, trying to pull away from me.

"No!" I hugged his waist tighter. "Why do you have to leave? We never got to win at nationals. It was your dream and it's all my fault. Stay so we can win next year and-"

"No, y/n. I don't care about winning anymore. God, if only you knew how much I want to stay here with you." His voice broke a little between his words.

I pulled away slowly and looked up at him. "You'll come back soon, though, right?"

"I can't answer that right now." He wiped my tears.

"What do you mean? If you don't come, I'll become miserable again like I was last year. Who will wipe my tears away? Who will drive me home after skate practices? Or who will skip class with me-"

"Y/n, stop. Look at yourself. You've made so many friends this year who care about you. You even got yourself a boyfriend." He gave me a soft smile. But I didn't smile back.

"Look, the moment I get time off, I'll come back for you. Okay?"

I stared into his eyes. They were coated with a layers of tears, but held them back from falling.

"Promise?" I said.

He only nodded.

He stepped away and walked past me to go through security. I waited, standing there with tears falling down my cheeks. I watched him until I could no longer see him.

He never promised me he'll come back.

I broke down in my tears. Except this time, they couldn't be wiped.
