Love or Foe [COMPLETED]

I was in lab when I received multiple calls from Forth. I ignored it as school was still important. Once I ended, I called Forth back and scolded him!

"Why do you keep calling when you know I'm at Lab! I already told you to concentrate in school right. What are you doing with your phone?! What can be more important than that?"

Forth remained silent on the phone for a good minute before finally uttering that Park had been beaten up badly and hospitalised before hanging up. Shit. Beam and Kit had heard my end of the comvo and knew something was wrong. Just then, Lam called Beam too and filled him in. We flew to the hospital where Ming was quietly sitting in one corner whilst Park's parents were anxiously waiting results. Lam and Forth were at one corner and Forth looked very ashy and pissed.

Yo joined us and Beam and him along with Kit separated to go to Lam and Ming respectively. I went over to Forth. I put my hand on his shoulders but he just shrugged it away and didn't turn to look at me at all. I knew he was pissed. I knew I was in the wrong but I just... I sighed softly.

A little while later, the doctors came out and updated us on Park who had been clobbered cold with a bat of some sort. He will survive but had to be hospitalised for a week at least. We all sighed that he would be ok but who could have attacked him?

Park's parents said they would delve into that but just requested we keep a close eye on him. We all agreed to take turns to look after him with Ming who just plain refused to leave his side.

About a few hours later, we all broke up to go home. Beam and Lam went off together and Kit had driven here so he said he will send Yo home. That left me and Forth.

Forth had been silent all this while and finally uttered, "I will send you home."

I nodded and we walked towards his bike. I grabbed his hand midway and stopped him.

"I'm sorry ok? I shouldn't have screamed at you like that. I just thought.. "

"You thought I was goofing off again, having fun, slacking when I should be studying. Its fine. I'm used to people thinking that way of me. I just thought you would know me better?"

'Forth, I do.. I am..."

"It's ok Pha. We really belong in different worlds, don't we? I'm sorry I ever thought.. we.. come. Let me send you home. Sorry about earlier."

I couldn't help but feel like Forth's words just stabbed right at my heart when I heard him say that. It was a sullen ride home further accentuated by the fact that Forth was deadly quiet too. When we got to my dorm, Forth didn't even take off his helmet. He just nodded at me and then took off.

I sighed deeply, feeling like we had just taken 10 steps back with this happening right now.

The next day, the group chat was alive with updates on Park and everything. Forth replied there promptly but there wasn't a single private message from him to me and all of mine to him went unread.

Beam caught me sighing during break and asked what was wrong. I caught him upto speed and he just smacked my head.

"Seriously Pha. You of all people. Forth knows how important studying is to you and if he called you despite that, doesn't it mean something was alarmingly wrong? Imagine if this had been him in the situation, dude, he could have died calling you for help. Why are you always quick to think the worse of him?"

I kept quiet, knowing fully well I was in the wrong. Beam said he would try to speak to Forth for me but promised nothing. I nodded. I was determined to win back Forth.

Wait, win him back?! Win what back? Not like we were dating! What was I going on about? Sheesh. But my flurry of thoughts were silenced when I saw Forth and Lam walk into our Medical canteen.

Yeaps, I had done wrong. I am going to win him back no matter what. I thought determinedly as the two boys joined us for break. Lam sat next to Beam and Forth sat next to me but keeping a distance between us.

I sighed softly at this as it was unusual. I guess I was still in the doghouse. I snapped back to the conversation to find out that Park was getting discharged. Forth was going to use Lam's car to bring him back.

"I got my car. I can drive you guys instead."

"It's ok. Park is discharged at 2pm and you boys have lab till 4pm. We will settle it."

I fell silent, knowing he was right. Then I heard Beam say, "But we come by to see him ok?"

Forth nodded. Lam told him to not tire himself out but Beam said it was ok. They were all friends and he really wanted to check on Park too.

"I bring Pha and Kit and we come by around 5pm. Tell me what you guys want for dinner. I buy it."

Before I could agree, Forth shot down the idea.

"It's ok. Pha doesn't have to come. Did you forget? He has that consultation with Dean today on the medic camp post lab. You and Kit can come. Pha can come when he has time for us."

With those words, Forth stood up to go buy food. The other two boys looked at me awkwardly as I banged my head against the table.

I was definitely in the fucking dog house with Forth and there seemed to be no way out.
