S A D I E

I hum quietly under my breath, flipping a page on my notebook and resume copying off the board.

'Does that say gender malfunction?' Jaxon's blind ass asks from beside me.

I whip my head in his direction. 'It says gastric malfunction, you moron!'

He grumbles under his breath, turning back to his book. I shake my head at him.

'I can't wait until summer.' I sigh.

Jax nods beside me. 'Beach house this year, right?'

'Of course.'

Every year, we go out of town. Just Jax, Joanna, Elliana and I. This year, it's just the J's and I. We are going to our family beach house. Last year, we went to Jaxon's family's city house.

'Hey, Say?'

I hum.

'Can we bring Aleena this year?'

'Aleena, Lucas and Matheo are coming this year.'

'Matheo?' Jax grumbles.

I told him about him yesterday, and Jax doesn't seem to like him, even though he never met him.

'Yes.'

'And you invited him?'

'Lucas's parents and Lexi are going to Spain. Matheo's parents are going as well, and Lucas doesn't want him to stay alone. So I offered.'

Jax doesn't look pleased.

'Don't worry, Jax. He won't steal Aleena from you.' I tease.

He glares at me. 'It's an Edwards. Girls love Edwards.'

Yeah, they do.

I do.

'Mr. Williams, can you please stop distracting Miss. Parker. Unlike you, she has Harvard to impress.' Our Bio teacher calls from across the class.

Jax shoots him a look and grumbles even more under his breath.

The bell rings and everyone rushes to leave the class. I look at Jax. He nods. I walk over to Mr. Evans and take a breath.

'Sir?'

He looks up and smiles when he sees me. 'Miss. Parker! Is everything okay?'

'I was thinking, do you have any college brochures that I can ready? Im going to apply to others in case I... y'know- don't get in Harvard.' I finish lamely.

'Of course! I'll have a look around.'

'Thanks, sir.'

'Scared you'll not get in Harvard, huh?'

I nod my head, looking at my feet. I feel him get up and walk towards me. 'Sadie, no matter what you decide to do with your life, I will stand beside you one-hundred percent. Except if you become a teacher, I will never forgive you for turning out like me.' He jokes.

At that I snicker. His smile widens.

'Don't tell Jaxon, but you are one of my favourite students.'

I press a finger to my lips. 'Your secret is safe with me.'

'Hey, grab a table, I'll get our lunch.' I tell Jax, once we are in the cafeteria.

He nods. 'Pasta, a side of wedges, and-'
