I was still awake as the early rays of the sun hit my eye.

The first thing that hits me is that Sadie is up.

Sadie is the sun. I was just one of the planets who orbit around her, always in her vicinity, joined together by a force.

Love.

I drifted away from her solar system, banished, forgotton.

The pang in my head distracts me from my thoughts. I hold a hand to my temple, groaning at the pain. I reach beside me to the bedside table to pick up the glass of water on it, downing it in one go. I lay back down on the bed, trying to at least get an hour of sleep. I didn't get any last night.

I feel a queasy feeling in my stomach and I immediately jump up and towards the bathroom, emptying all the contents of my empty stomach.

I had way too much to drink, yesterday.

I head back to my bed, slumping down on it, still in my clothes from last night. I still smell of beer and sweat, but I can't get myself to care.

Around an hour later, I get up from bed, defeated, and head towards the bathroom, but was interrupted as Mom barges open the door and walks in, Dad at her heels.

'I have a hangover.' I mumble. 'Don't yell.'

'I will yell as much as I'd like.' Mom says sternly. 'Sit.' She says, nodding her head towards my bed.

I gesture towards the bathroom. 'Can I at least brush my teeth?'

'No. Sit.'

'Got it.'

I sit on the edge of my bed and catch eyes with my dad. He shakes his head at me and mouths,

'She's mad.'

I turn to my mother. 'My darling moth-'

'This is not helping your case at all.' Mom says, unimpressed.

I groan.

'You are all over social media.'

'I am?' I echo.

'Yes, Lucas. It isn't good.'

'Not good, okay.'

Mom sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose. 'You are ruining your career. The same career that you spent years trying to get to, independently. Can you think about this, just for a sec?'

'Mom...'

'No, Lucas, you will listen to me.' She interrupts. 'Alcohol is not the answer. It never is. You are ruining you life, do you wanna wake up every morning with a hangover?'

'No.'

'Do you wanna ruin your beautiful relationship with your sister because you were 'angry'?'

My eyes widen. 'I did that? Shit, Lexi-'

'Yeah, Lexi was really bummed knowing her older brother told her to 'Piss off' and 'Let me the fuck alone'. She went asleep crying.'

The guilt feels familiar, but not any less painful.

'I'll apologize.'

'Yes, you will. That's not it.' She grabs her phone and starts reading. '"Lucas Edwards following in Emma Holden's footsteps? Spotted drunk at his recording studio."'

'Shit.' I curse. 'This is bad.'

'You think?' Mom says sarcastically. 'I'm kicking you out.'

'What?!' I yell.
