IT WAS FEBRUARY 14, 2011 when Guel first laid eyes on Paige. Valentine's day noon, and there was this special open campus event happening in Paige's school. Guel wasn't from there, taga-ibang campus sya na gustong dumayo sa S. Villanueva High School para suportahan ang kaibigan na may nililigawan sa school ni Paige.

Guel was just being a supportive friend. He even had their driver drive his tropa to that public high school with the goal of finally ending their friend's 16th year na walang jowa streak.

Maganda 'yong nililigawan ni Stephen. Maganda at matangkad, popular din. As far as Guel knows, she's half Japanese. Sheena Grace Angeles was really ideal.

Guel has always known one thing about SVHS, and that is that they always take pride in their pretty students. Sa halos lahat ng nakakasalamuha nyang estudyante sa SVHS, lahat talaga magaganda, walang tapon. And he's just as shallow-minded as all of the male highschoolers his age kaya sya man ay natutuwang makakita ng... of course, maganda.

Then came Paige.

She wasn't pretty, or at least, to Guel's crooked standard, she didn't pass. Pero hindi naman sya unattractive. She was petite, morena, has chubby cheeks and doe eyes... she was just a part of the large crowd of students gathered to witness Stephen's valentine's surprise to probably the prettiest girl on campus.

But Guel, he noticed her.

It was the way she smiled that made him take notice. She smiled like she was genuinely happy, and that gave Guel the notion that his friend, Stephen, was doing the right thing, all because of that little bright , gummy smile.

Iilang segundo lang naman syang nakatingin at agad nyang binawi ang pagtitig. As much as he wanted to see that girl who was still smiling while watching Sheena and Stephen in front of the school's library, with students all around cheering for the two, Guel knew he would look ridiculously stupid staring blindly at somebody while his focus should be on the new couple.

"May jowa na si Teptep!" The rest of Guel's friends howled. He couldn't help but feel happy, too.

Stephen introduced Sheena to the group. "Sheen, mga kaibigan ko pala, ang Stephen oplan jowa support group."

Everyone took turns in introducing themselves.

"Edson!" Of course, Edson introduced himself first. Sa lahat, sya din 'yong pinaka-excited eh.

"Patrick."

"Trev."

"Haki."

"Dom."

"AJ."

"Miguel."

Sheena smiled at them and gave them a small wave. For a highschooler, Sheena was really a very pretty girl. Lahat halos sila napatulala nang mapangiti ito.
