When I see his name light up my phone, my eyes brighten
My heart skips an unhealthy amount of beats

He doesn't even know it
He doesn't even pay enough attention to me or his surroundings notice
But every little thing he does I admire him for

When he laughs with his friends and his eyes flash with joy as he does
When he talks with a slight rasp that's only just noticeable to certain people
When he looks over in my direction, making eye contact for mere moments

He makes my heart skip a beat
He makes my temperature rise higher than normal
My cheeks flush pink when I'm around him

And it seems like,
No matter how hard I try,
I can't shake the feelings I have for him

The way he speaks
The way he acts
The way he carries himself with such pride

He's perfect in every way
From the messiness to his hair
To the untied shoe laces he walks around with in the halls

To me,
He's perfect in every way

I admire it
I admire him
What he stands for
Who he stands for
Who he represents
Who he is as a person
