June March awoke to the sound of loud repetitive bangs, her eyes flying open as she sat in the bed. After what she felt like all night trying to fall asleep she had managed to do it, only to be awoken by what sounded like fireworks. She looked around and realized that this wasn't all just a bad dream but she was actually still here, a sigh escaping her dry lips as she dropped her face into her hands to rub the sleep away.

"Shit. What—what is that? Like fireworks?" She said in an exasperated tone, looking up towards the table where Big John had been all night. He had been trying to translate that statue and at this point June had gathered that he wasn't exactly too good at it.

"Yeah the locals have been setting them off for hours. Some kinda holiday. Come—come here real quick and tell me what you think this symbol looks like. My eyes ain't as good as they used to be." She looked at the older man with a tired look and then nodded, standing from the bed and walking to the side of the table he was sitting at.

"Which one?" He quickly pointed to the stone carvings, June tilting her head a little bit as she tried to make out what it could possibly be. "And this thing is supposed to end up...as words?"

"Yes. Now what does it look like to you?" He stood from the table, letting her take the chair and walking towards the window. He looked out at the trees and then something else caught his attention, a padlock on the window and a two story drop. He immediately got reminded of their plan from the boat.

"It kinda looks like...like a tree maybe. Or-or a...horse?" She sounded far from sure, Big John realizing she was no help at all. However he was less focused on translating now and more focused on this window. "Hey, what are you doing?"

She was by him in almost a second as he fiddled with the padlock for a moment, her eyebrow quirking as she looked over at him.

"Do you know the code?" He looked at her like she was stupid for just a second, his face dropping when he realized she was nowhere near the same page as him.

"No I don't know the code. But I do know how to pick a lock. And look at this." He lifted the padlock to show the keyhole at the bottom, a small gasp leaving her lips as he looked at her with some sense of pride. Their plan would come to fruition. The sound of multiples pairs of footsteps outside of the door made them both scurry back to their previous spots, June jumping onto the bed with amazing height and managing to fall off the side and Big John sitting back in his chair as quickly as possible.

"Ow." June said as she pulled herself back onto the bed, the door opening right when she closed her eyes. Sure enough it was easily expected that Singh would start blabbering, his favorite sound in the world clearly being the sound of his own voice. That's what happens when you give annoying people money and power...they never shut up.

"There he is, our intrepid translator. Mr. Routledge, leading the charge on the road to El Dorado." Her inside recoiled at the sound of his voice and she continued to pretend to be asleep, but she could tell that someone was standing above her.

"Look, Carlos...it's not like I'm translating French, all right? I-I need more time." Singh scoffed at Big Johns request, a small humorless laugh falling from his lips. He was clearly tired of waiting, but unfortunately for himself he had no way of translating the carvings. It was kind of funny that Big John even had to request more time, given that fact that without him they won't find it anyways.

"Of course. Of course. You have a few hours." He walked past Big John and pat him on the back, June trying to stay as still as possible. "Prove to
me you're worth keeping alive, John." Singh left the room and the door was left open behind them, June waiting a moment for good measure before turning back over.
