• i'm relatively new-ish to the HP fandom (it is a long story) and i'm pleased to say this is the first HP fic i've had the pleasure of reading! it was also my first journey into the marauders fandom, although i'd say this was more like dipping my toe, because there is A LOT to digest there.
• it was quite refreshing that you do not have to confront dark magic or really gruesome themes in this fic (at least, not yet... rosie please don't break my heart) but instead you can focus on the will-they-won't-they of archer and sirius, along with their various shenanigans at hogwarts. the characters in this story are so endearing and funny, you cannot help but root for them! especially archer, he is such a likeable protagonist, and i love how vulnerable he feels to the reader.
• i also love the way rosie weaves in flashbacks throughout the story as well, showing the connection between these two before and after the cruel summer as the title suggests. side note: PERFECT song for these two if we're talking about taylor swift. although, to be fair, the bananarama song also fits rather well. have to love the ✨versatility✨
• give this fic a read if you want a smile on your face! although be prepared for angst and pining too, this fic has PLENTY of it so far
