S2 Chapter 12 (Part 1): Staying With Sun

You shrugged and gave him your shirt. you quickly ran to Sun's dorm. You managed to come back before Sun was done getting ready for bed. Once Sun left the bathroom you went inside to do your nightly routine. Sun was already in bed once you were done. Rolling into bed, you felt Sun turn to you, holding you close. You exhaled deeply, relaxing. You slowly fell to sleep.

A cold breeze made you shiver. You tried to pull the blanket up to cover yourself only to grab the air. You grumbled as you opened your eyes, sitting up in confusion. You realized where you were and groaned.

'Great, what now? More creepy ghosts wanting to haunt me?' You got up and began walking down the halls, 'or maybe I'll be lucky enough to just get a creepy warning, vague and super unsettling'

You felt the air shift around you, as if someone new was in your presence. Turning around, expecting to see some other ghost child, you saw an adult figure standing far away from you.

"Michael?" You yelled out.

No response. Squinting through the dim lights, you saw the figure had glasses and had some strange orange glow. You took a step closer, trying to get more details. The figure narrowed it's eyes before disappearing around a corner down the hall. You knew it was a bad idea, but you desperately wanted answers. A bit hesitant, you ran after the figure. Your loud stomps and loud breathing must've alerted it because you heard a pair of footsteps running away from you.

"Come back! Who are you?!"

Catching only small glimpses of it as it turned the corner made it hard to chase after it. You eventually hit a fork in the road, you had never seen the hall be split into three's. Holding your breath, you listened for footsteps. They echoed down the path to your right. Without wasting time, you ran after the figure.

"Are you one of the ghost children?!" You breathed heavily.

Turning corner after corner, you realized you only took right turns.
'wait- shouldn't I be back where I started? I just did a circle' you asked yourself.

Slowing down, you walked after the figure, trying to understand what was going on with the halls.

"This place is a maze" you muttered to yourself, you couldn't remember who told you that.

The sound of a door being thrown open and slamming shut made you jump. Picking up your pace, you found a door to the left of the hall. You opened it and entered the room. You heard pipes shrieking, steam escaping the small gaps. Thermostats were on certain pipes, close to eye level. Looking around more, you saw a set of stairs to your left, they headed down into a dark void. You looked down, trying to catch your breath while weighing your options. Small water droplets could be heard dripping from down below, you assumed it was more pipes.

'what is this place?' You questioned, finally understanding how chaotic it was in the spirit world.

You heard another door being opened and closed from deep below. You decided it was no longer worth it to follow the figure, they were too far away for you to follow. Sighing heavily, you left the strange pipe room. Opening the door, your realized you ended up in a completely different place. The door led to where you started, you were a room across from where you woke up. You stood in the middle of the hall, wrapping your head around the situation.
