Bliss was watching the Lizzie McGuire movie.

Paolo and Lizzie were out watching the fireworks.

Open Your Eyes to Love was playing.

For years, and even now, the song didn't make sense for the scene, but for the love scene sucker she was, it didn't matter.

Paolo was a scamming turd, but until it was revealed, the lip-syncing Italian pop star was charming.

She sighed and turned over on the hammock.

She missed Connor.

Once he left yesterday, Bliss called her mother and vented.

"I feel like my heart is being ripped out," is what she said to her mother.

And her lovely mother laughed.

"It's part of the process, Bliss. Don't feel bad for feeling this way. You'll probably be attached at the hip for the rest of the week when you see him on Sunday."

Bliss blushed at her mother's assured statement and ended the call after saying goodbye.

Now, she was counting down the hours.

She hadn't called him as he encouraged her to do. Instead, she forced herself to think of other things.

Which is how she ended up watching the Lizzie McGuire movie.

Nostalgic distractions.

"Don't look into his eyes, Lizzie! He's a scam!" She yelled at the screen as Lizzie locked eyes with Paolo under the fireworks.

"Noooo!" She yelled as Paolo took Lizzie's hand.

Her heart melted at the sight.

Though she had a love-hate relationship with Paolo, this scene always got her.

Tonight, it hit differently.

Like a stab in her heart.

Paolo held Lizzie's hand after calling her beautiful.

Connor held her hand whenever he could.

He called her beautiful, lovely, and perfect, and she missed him dearly.

She sighed, feeling the absence of Connor's wonderful self.

She didn't mind that he was gone.

She did mind that their day together was snatched.

"Snatched," She laughed at herself. "Chill out, Bliss. Just think about it. Tomorrow morning, he'll be back."

No mopey-dopey's here.

"You know what, I'm gonna call him!" No more silly depravation.

She missed the man, and he said she could call.

But it was late.

"He's probably asleep," She huffed disappointedly.

It was almost 11 PM.

"No, I'll just call, and if he answers, it's meant to be. Right, Lord?"

She grabbed her phone off the floor and called Connor.

Instead of saying slightly embarrassing things, she kept quiet, awaiting his answer.

"Hi, Bliss."

And like a woman in a sickly sweet romance movie, Bliss sighed.

It was drawn out and came from her heart.

"Hi, hi! Why are you awake?" She facepalmed at the question.
