"Daddy." Samia jumped off the bed and ran to her father.

Maher jumped out of Daneen's hold as well rushing to his mother.
"Mommy."

Karim and Zaira picked both kids up.

Zaira hugged Maher close to her chest.

"My baby." She squealed. "I missed you. I haven't seen you in years." She exaggerated.

Maher giggled.
"I saw you in the morning."

"So you didn't miss me?" Zaira pouted sadly.

"I missed you, Maher's mommy." Samia grinned.

"Aww. See, Maher. At least someone missed me." Zaira smiled at Samia.

"Come, Samia." Zaira held Maher on her waist and tried to reach for Samia from Karim and felt her knees buckle for a second. Karim made it look easy when holding both kids.

Karim however realised and took Maher from Zaira.

"Samia's my favourite now." Zaira eskimo kissed Samia causing her to giggle in delight.

"Since you two are both here, I leave them to you. Good luck putting them to bed. I know I failed." Daneen walked towards them giving Karim a side hug and a smile to Zaira before walking out of the room.

"Thank you." Karim was really grateful for his family being around.

"You two giving Daneen a hard time?" Karim asked.

"No..." Samia drawled.

If there was one thing Karim was sure about it was that she was the one giving Daneen a hard time and not both of them.

"Grandma said you would come say goodnight to us. So we didn't want to sleep yet." Maher said.

How were they ever going to explain the truth to him? Karim had no idea and he didn't want to think about that now.

"Okay then. Why don't we put you both to bed then?"

"You'll stay till we fall asleep?" Samia questioned, eyes round.

"Yes. We will." Zaira was the one to reply.

They walked towards their beds. Karim placing Maher on his while Zaira placed Samia on hers.
They tucked them both in and listened to Samia tell them all about their day without them.
It didn't take long for Maher to fall asleep and after a three yawns Karim decided it was time for Samia to go to bed.

"But I'm not sleepy...*yawn*...at all." She complained.

Karim looked at her with a knowing look.

"Okay. Just a little." She smiled.
Zaira was sitting on her bed and combed the little girl's hair back.

"You'll be here tomorrow right, daddy?" Samia asked.

Zaira looked at Karim waiting for his answer.

"We will be here. Now say your dua." Karim reminded her.
She said her dua before a yawn escaped her again.

"Go to sleep now, angel."

Samia settled in comfortably.

Karim stood by the other side of her bed and kissed her forehead.

"Goodnight, angel." Karim said quietly.

Zaira stood on her feet.

"You didn't kiss me goodnight, Maher's mommy. And Maher too." Samia reminded.

"Oh. My bad. One goodnight kiss coming right up." Zaira joked before attacking her whole face with kisses.

"Goodnight, Samia."
