Chapter 24

"BIG BROTHER KIYOSHI!" Teruko ran towards the boy. He stopped his hand just above the drum,
"BIG BROTHER, BIG BROTHER!"
"TERUKO...!" The two siblings embraced each other. Kiyoshi looked up at Nezuko and gestured to her,
"She... she is..."
"I am Nezuko Kamado, I'm here to defeat the demon"

Nezuko kneeled down next to the young siblings. She patted Kiyoshi's head in an attempt to reassure him,
"Your very brave and strong to have survived this long on your own" Nezuko smiled reassuring at Kiyoshi,
"Now... can you tell me what happened here?".

Kiyoshi looked down for a moment,
"I was taken by that monster... and... and... it wanted to eat me. And then another monster came out of nowhere, they... started to try and kill each other. I think they were deciding on... who gets to... eat me..."

"And... and then... that monster with a drum growing out of its body... after that monster was taken out by the others, the drum fell out. Beating it causes the room to change... so... I've been using it up until now."

"'Rare blood'... did that demon ever say those words...?"
"!! He, he did... he called me that!"
"CAW!! RARE BLOOD IS A PERSON WITH PRECIOUS BLOOD!!" Nezukos crow just appeared out of nowhere, Kiyoshi and Teruko freaked out a bit due to the talking crow.

Nezuko turned to the crow,
"What does precious blood mean?"
"The blood of organisms have a classifying system, you idiot" the crow huffed,
"EVEN IN RARE BLOODS, THERE ARE ALSO PEOPLE WITH EVEN MORE PRECIOUS BLOOD, TO A DEMON! A PERSON WITH RARE BLOOD CAN EQUAL TO FIFTY PEOPLE! OR A HUNDRED PEOPLE! ONCE EATING THAT PERSON, THEY ARE ABLE TO GAIN NUTRITION EQUAL TO THAT BLOOD'S RARITY!!"

"RARE BLOOD IS A DEMON DELICACY! IT'S THE DEMONS FAVORITE!!" Kiyoshi and Teruko started to tremble. A muffled thumping sound echoed from outside of the room. Nezuko turned to the two siblings,
"I'm going to walk out of this room"
"EH?" Nezuko put one of her hands on Kiyoshi's shoulder and her other one Teruko's head.

"Calm down, it will be fine. Because I'm here to defeat demons." She turned her attention towards Teruko,
"Listen Teruko. Your brother is very tired right now, so Teruko, you need to take care of him".

"The moment I leave this room, start beating the drum to move. Just like what Kiyoshi has been doing up until now. If somebody opens the door or makes a sound... beat the drum and run away, do not hesitate for even a second. I promise that I'll come back to you, I will call out your name when opening the door" the two siblings nodded,
"Your both very strong!" Nezuko stood up,
"I'll be going now".

Nezuko ran out of the room,
"BEAT THE DRUM!" She called out to the two children. They did as they were told and they vanished,
"You bunch of bugs... I really do hate..." the demon raised his arm and hit one of the drums making the room turn. Nezuko flipped her body with the room turning so she could land on the floor properly.

The demon hit the drum on his stomach ans three scratches appeared above Nezuko who ducked down before they could hurt her. The demon hit two drums at the same time making the room rotating again,
'The drum on his left shoulder turns things to the right, while the left one turns things to the left. Right leg moves things forward, while left leg is back. The drum on his stomach is the claw attack'

Clawed attacks appeared all around the room,
'Guu~! So fast! This speed of the spin and attack is way too strong!'
'Even though Tamayo-San patched me up for a bit... my wounds haven't completely healed yet'
'Whenever I stand my ground with all my strength, the place where my bones are broken will make a scraping sound, and then I lose my strength. That demon's... claw like attack that leaves tracks is just too frightening. I really don't dare get close to it'.

'If I rush in during an opening while I am not completely prepared, and my legs lose their strength because of my pain... I will be diced into slices.'
'Move forward in a straight line!'
'I need to cheer myself on!!' Nezuko landed on the ground properly and raised her katana,
"You can do this Nezuko, you can do this! I've already endured things this far! I am a capable person! No matter if it's today! The future will always be the same as well! No matter how broken I might be! I will never yield to demons!!"
