I ignore my sister and start to head up the stairs. "Eliana Rose Cooper!" I freeze mid-step. "You will get your ass down the damn stairs this instant, young lady!" My mom said. I turn around to see her face bright red. She looks like a tomato, but with steam fuming from both sides. I slowly walk down the stairs and towards my mom. "What the hell?! Where in the fucking world did you go?!" I look down to the floor as her eyes stare into my soul. "I... I went into the city. And got a job application." I replied. "And a job for where?" Mom said crossing her arms. "Starbucks." "Jesus Christ Eliana. Scared us half to death to get a job at a place that has no impact in the world!" she said. "Mom! Not everything has to be about economics and shit! Yeah, i care about it but that doesn't mean its my destiny to work my entire life for it. Just because that's all you and dad care about doesn't mean it should be my number 1 priority." I said and stormed off.

I went into my room and filled out the paper. "Done." i said with a huff. I headed downstairs and put the application in my purse for tomorrow. "Hey, you okay?" Taylor came up behind me and asked. She must've overheard the conversation with my mother. "Yeah i'm good." i say in response. "Okay. Well, dinners ready." Taylor said and walked away to the kitchen. I followed. We were eating spaghetti tonight. As i was slurping up a noodle, we heard the doorbell ring. All of our heads shot up. "Um, I'll get it." Taylor said and she walked to the front door. I heard the sound of a woman's voice greeting Taylor. "Hello dear! I'm Marylou Sturniolo. I live a few houses down the street from here." My parents and i joined Taylor at the front door. "I just wanted to say hello and welcome you to the neighborhood! I brought cookies and would like to invite you over to our house for dinner Thursday night? the woman said. "Oh! Thank you Marylou! Unfortunately that's when our moving crew and the truck arrives. What about Friday?" My mom said in response. "Of course! Of course!" Marylou agreed to the idea. "Well, have a nice night! Bye!" She added and made her way down the steps. "You as well! Goodnight!" Dad said as he shut the door.

"Well she's very friendly." mom said as she was cleaning up the table. "I agree." dad replied. Me and Taylor were both eating the cookies that Mrs. Sturniolo had brought us. "Girls!" Mom yelled and Taylor and i each shoved another cookie in our mouths and ran up stairs dying in laughter. I got myself ready for bed and curled up in the soft sheets. My eyelids grew heavy and began to shut. I heard my door open and opened my eyes. My mom had walked in. "Hey honey, sorry to wake you. I just wanted to say i'm sorry for getting mad at you for just being curious. It wasn't that big of a deal but i guess i just got worried for your safety. I love you sweetheart. Goodnight." My mom leaned over and kissed my forehead. Then she left the room. I completely accepted my moms apology, but i was in the wrong too. I shouldn't've lied. But my thoughts drifted away as i entered the world of dreams.

Wednesday passed, it was a chill day. And Thursday came next. We were all preparing for the truck and crew, moving other things around, opening doors, putting cardboard down so furniture and heavy things wouldn't scratch the floor. At 11:30 the truck arrived and so did the moving crew. It took 5 and a half hours to get everything where it needed to be. And for the next 3 hours we were unpacking and moving the furniture into their correct places. At 9 we looked at our house. We did it. My family high fived each other and i joined in. Soon after, we were all dead asleep.
