|POETIC INTRO|

I lost myself inside of her
I'm breathing death even though I can eat
I sleep even when I'm no more
I'm a man who has lost touch with reality

I traded my tears for strength
My weakness in kindness
My sadness for their well-being
My soul for you to rest in peace

Although I found love I wanted you
I found a home but I craved thy presence
When we were apart I was void and empty
When we were apart, I could talk but not feel

Although I found love I wanted youI found a home but I craved thy presenceWhen we were apart I was void and emptyWhen we were apart, I could talk but not feel

|CHIEF BALOGUN's RESIDENCE, BANANA ISLAND|

"Kate invites Hon J Bola to her Chambers"

Mrs. K BALOGUN:
(She turns to the maid who is arranging her closet)
Leave us.

"The maid immediately walks out of the room"

HON J BOLA:
How is my precious sister doing?
(He hugs Kate)

Mrs. K BALOGUN:
I'm good. Have you seen Chief?

HON J BOLA:
No, I haven't.
(He attempts to light a cigarette)

Mrs. K BALOGUN:
Why can't you let go of this dirty habit?

HON J BALOGUN:
Whenever your children let go of it.

Mrs. K BALOGUN:
(She turns to him)
What did you say?

HON J BOLA:
Nothing. I didn't say anything.
You know what, fine, I give up.

Mrs. K BALOGUN:
Keep up with the self-deceit.
By the way, thank you for standing beside Lolade.
I know going against Williams and the Party was a tough decision for you to make.

HON J BOLA:
Anything for you, sister.
I owe you my life and what I am today.
But don't you think you should bring Lolade's awareness to your support?

Mrs. K BALOGUN:
I wish I could, Bola.
But it would be too much of a risk. She could snap one day and spill it to Williams, and you know what that means to me.
Williams can't know I helped Lolade win the election.
(Gets up from her seat)

HON J BOLA:
Hmm, alright.
It would have been nice if you let her know because she is getting the impression that you abandoned her as Chief did.

Mrs K BALOGUN:
She doesn't have to know that I am helping her. The most important thing is that my children are happy and they get what they want.
Ayo has fulfilled his longtime dream of being a governor, and I believe Lolade has found some essence of worth in her win against Williams, so case closed.

"Lolade walks into the room"

HON J BOLA:
Look who is here.
(He smiles at Lolade)

LOLADE:
Ekaale, Uncle.
(She hugs him)
Ekaale, Mummy
