Skye woke up gasping for air in panic with sweat rolling down her head and face cheeks. She looked at her left and saw the princess sleeping peacefully, and then to Everest on her right as she, too, was sleeping soundly. She then pointed her head forward, placed her left gloved paw on her heart, and took a deep breath and released it a few seconds afterwards. "It was just a nightmare," she assured herself with a whispered tone.
She then looks up at a sleeping Jonathan. She climbs onto her covers and walks straight to the end of her bed and hops off and lands on her front paws and then her back paws. She looks back to Everest and then Julie and sees they're still sleeping. She then perks up as she looks forward in realization. She looks at her back right leg and then her left forepaw. She kissed her left paw and smiled. "Thank goodness for soft silky gloves and socks." She then walks over to Jonathan.
(I thought it was going to be longer, but I guess it will be kinda bad if I left you all on a cliffhanger of Skye getting shot. But here's the real chapter that reveals what happened to Skye.)
