Chapter 56 : Secret

A sweet girl turn into a beast,

who never gave up on her team.

She took all the risks, it was either go out until she can't do no more.

Or go home in shame.

She was home with bruises,

and a sprain ankle.

Her team celebrating caused they had VICTORY.

But it was all about working well as a team,

But they couldn't done it without her. The girl who gave it all out for her team to win the championship.

I was sitting in the couch watching the replays of my past games as Queen of the Court nung nasa Sutoku High pa ako... walang ibang liwanag maliban lang sa malaking flatscreen na tv sa harapan ko.

Mga sigawan ng manonood, whistle ng refeeree at hampas ng bola ang tanging ingay sa loob ng condo ko.

Nagfa-flashback lahat sa isip ko ang mga pangyayari sa bawat laban ko bilang halimaw sa loob ng court.

Volleyball...

Blood pumping, andrenaline coursing through my veins. There is only one thing that crosses my mind, and that is to win.

Crushing my opponents shamefully to the ground where I can claim certain victory over them. Just to feel the electric tension as points are scored and time runs out.

Feeling elated as my thunderous served go untouched on the other side.

Bumps, sets, spikes are the key to the game. But nothing is more important than teamwork.

You yell, you scream, you call the ball.

As its path crosses your zone and teammates back you up, keeping that single ball up hoping to gain the points needed to reach the goal as sweat and anxiety fills the court.

The winning point looming over the horizon muscles become rigid and legs stay firmly on the ground. As we perform the final moves to defeat them, and as the crowd roars its support from the bleachers.

We jump and celebrate at the hard work we put forth as we rise above the ranks and  become the true champions.

AND THAT IS ONLY INSIDE THE COURT. Lahat ng teamwork, hardworks, communication of each other, cheering... was only happening inside the court.

And I remembered after that, when we get out of the court...

AKO NA ANG KALABAN NILA.

Because all of the attention of fans, cameras, reporters, medias... lahat, nasa akin lang.

That's the reason why they aren't friends of me.

LAHAT SA AKIN ANG ATENSYON PAG NASA LABAS NA KAMI NG COURT.

Kung nakikita nila kami sa loob ng court na nagcocommunicate sa isat-isa, nagsasaya at nagtutulungan na parang magkakaibigan. Ibahin nyo pagdating sa labas ng court!! hindi na nila ako kilala.

Bumuntong hininga ako saka tumayo sa sofa, binuksan ko muna ang ilaw at naglakad papunta sa pinto dahil kanina pa naririndi ang dalawang tenga ko sa tunog ng buzzer sa labas ng pinto ko.

Maggagabi narin at hindi ko man lang nagawang lumabas ng condo para kumain kanina dahil nagkalat ang mga reporters sa paligid nitong building dahil sakin.
