Politician Series 2: The Governor's Secret Affliction [ COMPLETED]

Nagising ako dahil sa tunog na mula sa cellphone ko. Bumangon ako and wala na si Lucian sa tabi ko. Pag tingin ko sa wall clock ay almost 9 na pala ng umaga. Kinuha ko iyon tsaka sinagot.

"Miss Sonne..." Kumunot ang noo ko, tiningnan ko ang caller and it was from my tatay. Bakit babae ang boses nun? "Miss Sonne iyong itayy.."

"Hello sino to?" Taka kong tanong dahil hindi ko sya masyadong maintindihan dahil putol putol siyang mag salita.

"Empleyado niyo po ako Miss Sonne. Ang iyong itay kasi dinala sa Hospital"  biglang naputol ang linya kaya mas lalo akong kinabahan. 

Lumabas ako sa kwarto ni Lucian at tinry kong tawagan siya. Naka ilang ulit kong tawagan siya ngunit hindi sumsagot so I decided to call Sky nalang. Buti nalang at hindi sya busy ngayon kaya maihatid niya ako sa probinsya namin. Nag paalam nalang ako kina Nana Carmen upang siya nalang ang mag paalam ni Lucian.

I felt her heart racing as I rode with Sky on the way to our hometown. I couldn't shake off the worry and fear that consumed my thoughts. Sky, my ever-supportive best friend, held my hand tightly, trying to reassure.

"Hey, Sonne, everything will be alright," Sky said with a gentle smile. "Let's stay positive. Your dad is in good hands at the hospital, and they'll take care of him."  Even if Sky tried to calm me hindi parin mawala sa isipan ko ang kaba at thoughts sa maaring maramdaman ni tatay.

"I hope so, Sky. I can't lose him. He's all I have." Tanging sagot ko nalang sa kanya.

"I know, but we have to trust in the doctors and believe that they will do everything they can to help him," Sky said. "Your dad is strong, and with you by his side, he'll have all the strength he needs to get through this."

As we arrived at the hospital, I rushed inside, my heart pounding in my chest. I asked the receptionist for my father's room number, and she directed me to the cardiologist's office. Cardiologist? Matagal naman ng may sakit si tatay pero hindi niya sakit natukoy na may sakit siya sa puso.

The doctor looked concerned as he explained my father's condition to me. "Your father has a serious heart condition that has been developing for quite some time. His heart is in need of a new valve or, in more severe cases, a heart transplant." Kinapa ko ang kamay ni Sky. Heart Transplant? Sa pag kakaalam ko mahal iyan? Saan ako kukuha ng pera?

I felt my breath catch in my throat. "How long has he been dealing with this?"

"It's hard to say precisely, but it seems he may have been enduring this condition silently for a while now. We'll run some more tests to determine the best course of action," the doctor replied.

My mind was a whirlwind of emotions, but I tried to stay composed. "What are the options?"

"We will start with some medical treatments to stabilize his condition," the doctor explained. "If that doesn't work, we may need to consider surgical interventions. However, we'll do our best to explore all possible avenues before considering a transplant."

Nang maka alis na ang doctor ay doon ako humarap kay Sky. Napa iling ako iniisip ang mga panahon na minsan ko ng makita si tatay na naka hawak sa puso niya.

"Sky hindi ko kaya, saan ako kukuha ng pera?" Bulong na tanong ko kanya habang naka yakap kay Sky.

"Shh, tutulungan kita. I will try to ask mt friend sa Czech baka sakali matulungan ka nila" Nang kumalma na ako ay doon lang ako pumasok sa kwarto ni Tatay. May oxygen sa ilong niya. Kinuha ko ang kamay niya at hinawakan iyon.

"Tay naman, akala ko ba walang lihiman. Bakit ka nag sinungaling?" Mas lalo akong naiyak ng wala man lang akong nakuhang sagot sa kanya. Ang sakit sakit para sa akin knowing na si Tatay lang ang natirang pamilya meron ako.
