The only thing that was heard was the sound of rain outside. Allison was driving silently, her mind on other things. Her daughter Claire was always on her thoughts as she remembered all the mistakes she made.
Katerina on the other hand was looking outside the window thinking about nothing. Absolutely nothing. A small sighed was heard made by the woman next to her. The girl turned her head to see Allison biting her lips as she tried to hold back her tears.
"Allison it's okey" Katerina said making the woman look at her confused
"What?"
"I said it's okey. It's okey to not be okay you know. An abnormal emotional response to an abnormal situation is normal. We cannot simply pick the emotions we want to have. It just does not work that way" she said looking outside again
"Yeah I know" Allison sighed as she stepped on the gas making them drive faster with a silent again. Soon enough they made it to a house.
"Is that it?" Allison asked as Katerina checked the file and nodded
They both left the car and found a mailbox with the name JENKINS on it.
"Yep right house" Katerina pointed. They walked quietly to the window. They looked through it. The girl who was on her tiptoes sighed as she saw nothing interesting but Allison's eyes widen.
"What?" Katerina asked noting the change
" A violin" Allison whispered "Let's go back home" she said but as they turned around a crow went passed them giving them a heart attack.
"Jesus" Allison mattered
"Not quite" the girl replied sarcastically as they left.
Everything was going smooth with the ride until they went into terrible traffic.
"Well that's awesome" Katerina said as sighed and started playing with the lights of the car
"Stop it" Allison said smacking slightly her hands
"What" the girl replied annoyed
"You're not a child stop acting like one" She said
Allison sighed until she saw a familiar scar. "What the" she muttered as she quickly left the car and put on her sunglasses. Katerina sighed confused as she tried to open the door only to realised it was locked
"Uh Allison I think you accidentally left the central locking" she said loudly so Allison could hear her.
"Act like a child get treated like a child" the woman replied smirking causing the teen to scoff
"Isn't it illegal to leave your child locked in a car?" Katerina asked again annoyed but Allison ignored her as she approached the crime scene.
"Okay"When Katerina made sure she wasn't looking she quickly kicked the door making it open. "Immature" she whispered as she approached Allison who was now talking to a police man.
"You're Allison Hargreeves?" She heard the officer saying "I saw you on TV two nights ago in that Sandra Bullock movie about underpay teachers that rob a bank" he fangirled as Katerina looked confused trying to understand who would think of such movie
"Yeah that's me" Allison said
"Oh wow. Hey if I'm being honest, my wife and I, we prefer you in the romantic comedies." He said
"Oh" Allison said not knowing what to do
"The love on loan trilogy. Ouf. We can't get enough" he said sighing happily. "You're really great"
"And apparently stupid if she thinks that because she locked the car people can't get out" Katerina said making her self present as Allison quickly turned to face her and then the car,whose door was slightly broken.
"How did you-. You know what. I don't need to know" The woman said as the man looked at the girl
"Hey I know you! You're.." he stopped "no actually I don't know you" he said
"I don't know you either don't feel guilty" the girl smiled sarcastically as the officers radio spoke
"Copy, Cheddar?" A woman said
"Yeah, what do you got, Fred?" The officer said not looking away from Allison.
"Fred?" Katerina whispered confused but listened closely to the conversation knowing it would come in handily later
"Hospital called. Perp from last night just regained consciousness." Fred said
" Copy. I'll be right over." Cheddar replied as he sighed. "Allison freaking Hargreeves. Wow. My wife is not going to believe me" He said chuckling before looking at the girl "and you" he added awkwardly as they all fell into silence.
"Anyway, I-- I-- I... I gotta go." The officer said " work stuff yeah" he added as he walked past them.
"Well do something Allison freaking Hargreeves" Katerina muttered shoving Allison in front of the officer
"Actually that's .. why I'm here" Allison said gaining the attention of the man "I'm-- I'm researching a role. A law enforcement role."
" In Jackpine Cove? We haven't had a murder here in years." The officer said confused.
"Yeah sure" Katerina muttered but stopped when Allison gave her a dirty look before talking.
"Oh, uh... it's about, um...a small-town cop who takes down a drug cartel." She said "In fact, maybe I could tag along while you conduct some official police business? I promise... I won't get in the way. I just... I think you could really, um...help me develop my character, if I could live a day in the life, you know."
"Day in a life huh?" The officer thought before shaking his head. "Ah come on follow me" he said before stopping. "Wait whose the girl?" He said
"My manager" Allison replied fast. "They get younger and younger" she laughed as Cheddar nodded and walked towards the car.
"You call yourself an actress and stutter so many times?" Katerina scoffed as Allison rolled her eyes.
"Yeah well without me we wouldn't have this lead so shut it" Allison said before smiling at the police man and entering the car in the passenger seat with Katerina in the back seat.
