~~~A Few Years Later~~~
It has been a wild few years. Jimmy and I moved to the countryside. Well, mostly Jimmy. Led Zeppelin is bigger than ever and Jimmy didn't want to be recognized. However, since the office is in London, I decided to buy an absolutely gorgeous two-floor penthouse in Central London. Just me and the kiddos live there but during school breaks and weekends, we live with Jimmy. I absolutely hate it. I mean we've been married for a few years, we should live together. But what Jimmy wants, Jimmy gets. If you haven't noticed, we aren't on the best terms. Like always. I love him but I can barely be around him. He's changed a lot over the years and I just don't like it. At least twice a week we get into a fight over the phone. He wants me to give up my career to stay home with him but I simply don't. Speaking of career change, Haze did get disbanded. I've come to terms with it. We all grew up and started making our own families and just a mutual discussion. We all get twenty-five percent of royalties on future sales and radio play. It just seemed like the right thing to do. The best thing is I still get to create songs and play on a few tracks in my free time which I love. I do miss touring. That I loved but if I really wanted to, I could hop on a plane and go play a show with friends if they were playing at a smaller venue. Plus I travel occasionally for my new career. The new career change is not that bad. I became the CEO of the London branch of my father's advertising company. Chris had the chance to work the same position that our father had but well, he's in jail. Lisa, I am not sure where Lisa is. She went no contact and if I needed to know where she was, I have people for that. But the main thing is I don't have to relocate my kids and occasionally travel to England for them to see their dad and friends. Right now it's late at night, 10 pm to be exact, and I am enjoying a glass of wine and reading a book. The kiddos are both fast asleep. It's the middle of winter and I have a little fire going on the fireplace. There was a recent snowstorm about two days ago so the streets are still quiet. It was perfect till the phone rang. I sighed and put my book down. I walked over to the phone and answered it. It has to be Jimmy. He usually calls at this time. "Hello," I answered the phone. "Good evening Mrs. Page" Edwin the doorman spoke, "I am sorry to bother you this late but um Mr. Page is here."I rolled my eyes and rubbed my temple, "This late? It's fine, send him up." I hung up the phone and walked over to the couch to make it look a bit neater. I saved my spot in the book before closing it and moving it to the coffee table. I walked over to the door to unlock it so I didn't have to open the door. I grabbed my wine glass and walked into the kitchen. I took the last swig of my wine before I heard the door knock. "It's open" I acknowledged the knock. "Love it me" I heard Jimmy yell coming in, "I mi...." "Shhhh the kids are sleeping, Jimmy." I shushed him while walking over to him. He gave me a cheeky smile and pulled me into a hug. His breath smelt like cigarettes and a bottle of Jack. I gave him a little peck on the lips before leaving the hug to close and lock the door. Jimmy took off his coat and dropped it on the floor before making his way to my record collection. I quickly picked up his coat and hung it up. I made my way back to the kitchen for another glass of wine. It will be my second tonight. "Would you like a glass?" I asked Jimmy, grabbing another wine glass. "Yeah sure" he mumbled looking for a record to play, "Wine?" "Yes. It's a good red wine. I picked it up from the market the other day." After pouring the glasses, I made my way over to the living room. I placed the two glasses on the table before sitting on the couch watching Jimmy. I watched him pick out a record then put it back before choosing a different one and walked to the record player. He placed the record on the player and headed over towards the fireplace. Billie Holiday's 'East of the Sun' started to play. Jimmy, staring into the fire. "Remember when the first year we lived together" he spoke into the fire. "And the first Sunday dinner we had I had this album playing while I was cooking" I smiled. That happened so many years ago I'm surprised he remembered. He let out a little chuckle, "I distracted you and we started dancing. The food got burnt cause I wouldn't let you go" "I was so upset when it was burnt. We had a little laugh before ordering takeout. Ate in front of the TV that night." We both chuckled at the memory. I smiled into my glass before taking a sip. I love it when we don't fight. We are soulmates. But the fighting is probably our biggest issue as a couple. There was silence in the room. I ran my hand through my hair before Jimmy walked over to me and stuck out his hand. "Care to dance?" he asked. I didn't say anything, just a small smile. I got up from the couch after taking Jimmy's hand. He wrapped his arms around me and we started to sway to the music. My head on his shoulder, I could smell a trace of cologne, mixed with the bit of booze. I felt him humming to the music and I closed my eyes just to remember this moment. "Jimmy?" I looked into his green eyes. "Yes, my love." I felt a tear escape the corner of my eye, "I think it's time we got divorced."
AN://
There was a time when I absolutely loved writing this story. I had full attention on making a book three but I grew up. I still love writing and Zeppelin. I had so many ideas and they are still in my notes on my phone but it is time to end the story. Sadly, the next chapter will be the last of the series. Thank you all for reading both stories. I hope you enjoyed reading.
