START OF THE APOCALYPSE
"dad?" riley called out. her voice was shaky and worried. she has been listening to the radio in the living room while her dad was cooking dinner.
negan walked over to his daughter with a confused expression. "what's wrong, riles? you look like you've seen a ghost?"
"listen closely." riley told him before turning up the radio station.
"have concluded that in all cases the killers are eating the flesh of the people. we suggest that everyone stay inside so this virus does not spread—"
riley turned off the radio, staring at the ground. "dad.."
negan sat next to his daughter, grabbing her hands into his. "we're gonna be okay riley."
"this sounds serious though." riley turned her head to look at him. "what if things get worse?"
"it's not. we just have to do as they say and stay inside. you're gonna be fine," he stated. "we're gonna be fine."
"promise me?" she took her pinky out. riley was terrified about this news. one of the reasons is because her worst fears can happen.
being alone.
she hated being alone. riley always needed to have someone.
and right now, she needs her dad to promise her that everything will be okay and nothing will change.
her father paused and tangled their pinkies together. "i promise you." negan gave her a small smile.
her dad pulled her into his embrace and they stayed like that for a couple of minutes.
