'I bet you think I either moved on or hate you,

'cause each time you reach out there's no reply.

I bet it never, ever occurred to you that I can't say hello to you

and risk another goodbye.

And I just want to tell you it takes everything in me not to call you.

And I wish I could run to you, and I hope you know that

everytime I don't, I almost do'.

“Harry, it’s been two days and she hasn’t come here yet”.

“Niall, she’s been busy. Yesterday she spent all day with Leigh and today she went to the airport to say goodbye to her and Nate, and she’ll be playing at the bar tonight in half an hour”.

“At the bar? What if I go see her?”

“Do it, maybe she’ll be happy to see you there”.

“But what if she wants to wait?”

“Niall, do whatever you want to. If you want to see her, go, and if you think you should wait, wait”.

“Alright then”.

I sighed and hung up. Truth is that Harry had been a great friend during the last months, he even spoke to Maddie. I smiled. I was going to the bar, I couldn’t wait any longer to see her. I took a shower and got dressed. I grabbed my stuff and headed to the bar. When I arrived she was singing The A Team by Ed Sheeran. I stared at the front door looking at her; she didn’t even notice I was there. She was looking beautiful, as ever. She sang a few more songs, until she got to the last one.

“The next song is a song I wrote a couple of days ago, and to be honest I’ve had a hard time trying to decide if I should sing it or not, because it’s quite personal. But here it goes, it’s called I almost do”, she said.

I smiled at how she spoke and started to hear her singing.

'I bet this time of night you're still up,
I bet you're tired from a long hard week,
I bet you're sitting in your chair by the window,
looking out at the city,
and I bet sometimes you wonder about me.

And I just want to tell you
it takes everything in me not to call you.
And I wish I could run to you,
and I hope you know that every time I don't,
I almost do, I almost do.

We made quite a mess, babe.
It's probably better off this way,
and I confess, baby,
in my dreams you're touching my face,
and asking me if I want to try again with you,
and I almost do'

She sang the chorus once more and then it was time for the last verse.

'I bet this time of night you're still up
I bet you're tired from a long hard week
I bet you're sitting in your chair by the window looking out at the city
And I hope sometimes you wonder about me'
