Two Days Later - Tuesday Afternoon

I lay there in my bed, the silence around me so deafening. I haven't moved from my room since about 6:00 am yesterday to shower and shave. I haven't eaten anything since yesterday morning when Eleanor brought me a pumpkin muffin and a cup of coffee before her first class. She came back really early last night from spending time with Hayden and asked if I was hungry. I didn't answer her. Instead, I stayed still, covered by the 4 different blankets on my bed. I didn't go to class yesterday, or today. After I showered yesterday morning, I didn't bother fixing myself up. Instead, I decided to skip class after I showered and basically fell back into bed. I have a feeling Eleanor will be back any minute now with a small sampling of food from lunch, since it's now 1:30 pm

I sit up on my bed, staring at the hideous reflection in the mirror on my wall in front of my bed. Bloody hell, do I look wrecked. I look like I've been on a drinking binger for a week now. I groan as I pull myself from my bed to attempt to do something, anything with my hair. I take my hair out of its braid to brush out the knots. What the fuck is wrong with me? Am I going completely mad?

I begin sobbing silently looking into the mirror at myself. I could not care less about anything right now, especially the guys. "Fuck everything," I think to myself. I untangle the last knot in my hair when Eleanor enters the room.

"Hey sunshine, is everything okay? I honestly forgot you had legs," she says attempting to make me smile. It worked. I give her a soft smile and pull on my black sweatshirt.

"How are classes?" I ask her taking a sip of the pumpkin juice she set on my table.

"Same old, same old. You're not missing much honestly. I've explained to the Professors what's going on," she assures me.

"Food poisoning from.." I begin to speak before she interrupts me.

"From the chowder from dinner on Sunday," she smiles.

Although I didn't even eat chowder Sunday night, it was the best excuse I could come up with so that they wouldn't look for me in the infirmary. Even though Professor McGonagall told Eleanor I needed to be seen by Madam Pomphrey.

"You're the best, El." I smile at her and take another sip of the pumpkin juice.

"Best I could do tonight was two croissants, a piece of lamb chop, and a heaping spoon of diced potatoes." She says setting the foot down on the bed.

I grab her hand and pull her into a hug before I begin eating the food she brought me. "Thank you, Eleanor. I'm sorry it's been a weird forty-eight hours. I just... I just had to be alone. I couldn't go out there after what happened and face the three of them."

I explained everything that had happened with the guys to her on Sunday night before we went to bed. She immediately agreed to cover for me while I tried to recover myself, here in our room.

"I understand, Eden. I know you'd do the same for me if I ever asked," she releases from our hug and changes into her normal day clothes since her classes are finished for the day. I continue eating as I listen to her range of comments.

"By the way, they've been asking me about where you've been. It's really annoying how crazy they are about you, Eden," she chuckles as she pulls her sweater over her head. "They're hanging out in the common room right now, if you decide to go down. I just thought you'd want to know in case you're still trying to steer clear of them."

"I think I'll be okay. Thank you, really, for everything. You're the best friend I've ever had."

"Oh shit, don't get all sappy on me now," she begs and I look up at her while nibbling on my croissant. "But love you too!" She adds smiling.
