-'CHAPTER 4´-

The sun was setting, and a soft breeze flew past the blonde. She had just brought Elena her bracelet back and went to the bookstore real quick

Elaine didn't read every day, but she enjoyed a good book here and there. The woman walked, avoiding the cracks on the pavement as she shivered slightly in the cold weather.

Suddenly a gust of wind flows past and a man is in front of her. What is up with all these vampires and just popping in front of me for no reason? The blonde inquires.

Elaine looks up to see a very pretty man in front of her. The blonde's heart immediately starts beating at the closeness of him..

Elaine couldn't help but admire the vampire. He looked like a muse from a painting with soft rosy lips and light brown curly hair. His eyes were a pretty blue, different hues created a beautiful mixture of something that reminded Elaine of the sea.

His mouth parted ever so slightly, and a desperate look filled his soft eyes. His gaze made the blonde's stomach turn, and she couldn't help but note how every second longer she stared at the man, the more details she noticed about him.

Something such as familiarity pooled in the woman's heart. As if she had stared at those very eyes a lifetime ago.

While the blonde was admiring the vampire, he couldn't help but do the same.

His Elaine was standing right in front of him, just as short as she was with the same rosey cheeks and soft pink lips he had kissed so many times.

Her hair remained a beautiful gold just like the last time he saw her.

With long fluttering eyelashes as curious yet, kind eyes stared up at him.

The same eyes he had painted so many times, a beautiful blue that was a soft green in the light. Her long hair resided on her shoulders, and Nik could feel his heart beating in his chest. His beautiful Eliane who would smile at him, the only woman to ever make his cold heart feel so alive.

His Elaine, who trudged the forest, chasing bunnies, who was kind to everyone she met, yet such a fire resided in the woman. With her adorable attempt at a glare, which Nik would always laugh at. With her beautiful dresses and her soft laugh that never failed to make Nick feel like he was hit in the heart.

Elaine , who had died in his arms, was standing in front of him now. Rebekah hadn't been lying. The blonde stood a foot away from him, shivers on her arms from the cold weather.

The hybrid's shocked expression morphs into a soft smile.

"Hello love," he says fondly, a hint of fear in his voice as if he said a word the blonde would disappear. A part of the hybrid feared she was a figment of his imagination, another part wanted to hold her, to kiss her until he was convinced she was real but as his sister said she didn't remember him. She didn't remember the nights curled by his side or the times he chased her in the garden. She didn't remember the laughter and smiles and how warm she made the hybrid feel.

"Hi," the blonde responds, voice barely reaching a whisper.

When Nick finally gains the courage he says "I'm Niklaus I wanted to introduce myself as I met many of your friends in the past '' the man tucks his hands behind back staring into the woman's eyes.

Elaine felt a surge of shock that the man in front of her was the infamous Klaus Mikaelson.

"I'm Elaine," the woman speaks up. A bit of fear rushed to her heart. She didn't know why Klaus was speaking to her. She doubted he made it appointment just to meet her cause he hasn't yet. She felt uneasy knowing she didn't know the reason he was here, but at the same time, she felt like she had known the man. Something in her gut told her he wouldn't hurt her. Elaine knew it was stupid to trust such a stupid feeling. "Are you here to kill me?" the blonde asks, knowing his history with her friends.

The smile wipes off his face, and his brows furrowed. "Of course not love, I would never hurt you," the man spoke genuinely, and Elaine felt confused as to why the man sounded so sure. She had just met him.

"You're cold here." he slides off his  an inch closer, and for some reason, Elaine lets him. He wraps his jacket around the blonde.

"Thank you," She says softly.

"Are you going somewhere it's getting pretty late. I could walk you there," the vampire offers.

"Oh sure, my house is just a few blocks away." The blonde nods her head down the block.

The hybrid nods, and the two walk side by side. "You like to read," Klaus asks, noticing her tote bag with books.

Elaine shrugs "here and there”
Klaus nods. "Reading was always my brother's thing. I much preferred art,".

"Really, what kinda art do you do?" Elaine asks.

Klaus shrugs. "I usually paint anything that comes to mind, what about you love?" he smiles at the woman.

"What about me?" the blonde inquired.

"I wanna talk about you, what do you like to do?"

Elaine pretends to think about it for a second. "I like meeting handsome strangers who walk me home at night. It's therapeutic, ' the woman jokes.

Klaus's eyes dance with amusement. "Is that so, you think I'm handsome?"

"You're a tad easy on the eyes," Elaine teases.

Klaus's smile didn't falter "your not too bad yourself love".

Another soft breeze of wind blows past shaking the pretty tree leaves.

“Why are you walking me home?” Elaine asks suddenly.

“Well it's the gentleman thing to do” the man concludes. The blonde raises a brow. Klaus smiles amusingly “you don't take me as the type” he questions.

“I'm not one to judge, but based on fact, you're not supposed to be so nice” she points out.

“Well perhaps you just need to spend more time with me and simply just decide for yourself” Klaus concludes.

Elaine laughs softly “your smooth” she comments.

The hybrid smiles “I like to think of it more as witt” he shrugs.

“And you're a tad cocky good to keep in mind” the blonde teases.”Okay let's form this newfound opinion of you so far” Elaine holds up her hand “artistic” she puts up a finger “cocky, witty, and a tad charming” she continues.

“Well love, I certainly need a bit more time. This list is very small”.

Elaine smiles. "Perhaps another time this one's mine," she nods to her house.

"Quite a cozy thing," Klaus comments. Elaine shrugs. "It's home."

Klaus walks her up the steps, and Elaine suddenly realizes she's wearing his jacket still.

She slides it off. "Here, thanks again for walking me home and all."

The hybrid nods "anytime love".
