Chapter 23

Narrator's PoV

The anticipation in the air was palpable as the Hogwarts students prepared for the annual Celestial Ball. Moon Valhalar and Merula Snyde found themselves standing outside the entrance to the Great Hall, bathed in the soft glow of floating enchanting stars. Merula had chosen a dress that shimmered like the night sky, adorned with tiny stars. Moon, on the other hand, wore a dashing suit that matched the inky-black feathers of his animagus form. His wings, now slightly smaller but still present, added an air of mystery to his appearance. The couple exchanged a nervous yet excited look, and Moon extended his arm to Merula.

Moon: "Shall we?"

he asked, a genuine smile on his face. With a hint of a blush, Merula placed her hand on his arm, and they entered the hall. The scene inside was nothing short of magical. Enchanted stars and constellations danced overhead, and the grand ceiling was adorned with celestial wonders. The music played softly, filling the room with a melodic hum. Moon and Merula joined the dance, moving gracefully across the floor, their steps in perfect harmony. The bond that had started with pranks and rivalry had transformed into something altogether unexpected. They twirled and swayed under the glittering stars, their laughter and conversations blending seamlessly with the music. Merula even confessed,

Merula: "I never thought I'd be attending a ball like this with you, Moon."
Moon looked into her eyes and replied,
Moon: "Life is full of surprises, Merula. And some of the best ones come from the most unexpected places."

As the night wore on, they found themselves gazing up at the celestial decorations, intertwined in each other's arms. Their wolves, trotted by, adding to the enchantment of the moment. The Celestial Ball had turned into a beautiful night under the stars, where Moon and Merula, who had once been bitter rivals, now danced together with newfound understanding and affection. And as they shared a gentle, starlit kiss, it was clear that their story was far from over. Then the moon seemed to resonate with the classical music playing in the background. Dumbledor seeing the boring atmosphere...decided to let Moon's family play.

Merula PoV

The classical music stopped and was replaced by what I can describe as a very deep-sounding throat chant. I look on stage to see this strange striped dog on stage. Then I heard some song from the 1920s...then I look at Moon whose skin is glowing with a luminous light at this point. I then see his tattoos move around and land on the floor. I was visibly confused as to how...this...could happen. I was now more confused than ever.

"Okay...what the fuck happened?"
Moon: "Forgot to mention that part to ya, Sorry."

Then out of nowhere, I see them rush to the stage...then see Moon's aunt jump up and turns into a bird...before coming back with a whole onslaught of songbirds. To surround us, leaving only us...I took his hand and started to dance with him. While dancing I felt like I was flying. As we looked into each other's eyes, I felt a feeling I felt only when I started dating Moon...and I knew he felt the same. I closed my eyes and leaned in for a kiss...again. It was deep, passionate, and loving. My mind fluttered with all sorts of thoughts...thoughts exclusively for the paired, the courted, and the couples. We both look to see the birds dispatch, the strange dog thing turning into...Moon's Mom, and the moonlight shining on us. Turns out his mother is the one and only Lowanna Valhalar...but how did I not catch on? Anyways we hear her say.

Lowanna(Moon's Mom): "Ladies and gentlemen, the final dance of the night, My son and his girlfriend."

We both started dancing after that statement feeling...well, called out. After that, Moon and I went to our room for what was supposed to be slumber...but soon became a full make-out session from just one kiss goodnight, and from that, we got into a snog for what felt like a blissful feeling.
