Chapter 12: When Opportunity Strikes
I was trending on the internet. I had become an overnight sensation. My streams had doubled hell, maybe even tripled. I was sitting on the bed scrolling through the videos of myself.
"Whatcha doing?" Kit said sitting next to me.
"I'm trending! Everywhere!"
Kit smiled.
"I'm really proud of you. I know how much you wanted to do a live performance."
I put my head on his shoulder and closed my laptop.
"I just thought of something more productive I could be doing."
"Oh yeah? What's that?"
I looked up at him kissing him. Neither of us broke the kiss until Kit's phone started ringing.
"Go ahead and answer it. It could be important."
Kit reached over and grabbed his phone off his side table.
"Hello?" He said as he answered the call.
He was on the phone for about 10 minutes.
"Alright, I'll talk to her and ask her. I'll let you know."
Kit hung up then turned to me.
"So, what was that call about?"
"It was my manager. He was wondering if you wanted to star along side me in some new movie."
"Seriously?"
"I'm so serious. I know that you've shuffled more towards music but-"
"I'm so down! Where would it be filmed?"
"He said something about New York, so it's perfect for you."
"Tell him I'll do it."
"Alright! I'll call him back!"
I was thrilled. It had been a hot minute since I've done anything acting wise. I texted my group chat with me, my dad, and my mom.
Lexi: GUESS WHAT
Travis: Chicken butt 💀
Taylor: Travis shut up
Taylor: We saw your performance! You did so great!
Lexi: Aw thanks! But Kit also just got me a staring movie role beside him! And it's film based in New York!!
Travis: Fr?
Lexi: Yes fr dad
Taylor: That's amazing! I'm giving you the biggest hug when I see you in like 5 days.
Once Kit was off the phone, I jumped up and gave him a hug.
"What's this for? Not that I don't enjoy because I certainly enjoy it."
"For everything. I mean everything."
"You deserve everything."
