Chapter 34: Surprise
It was 6:30 and Kit's mom had called me. They were about to land. I had met them there while Kit was out getting my gift.
"Alexia!" Caroline said with a hug. "I'm really happy you called us. I was missing my boy."
"We gotta get back before he does. He doesn't know you guys are coming."
"I see." Ned said as they all put their luggage in the trunk.
I had pulled into the garage of Kit and I's apartment building. As we walked into the building their jaws dropped.
"You guys live here?"
"Yeah! The penthouse!"
Kit had texted me.
Kit 💕: I should be home in like 15 minutes
Lex: alrighty I'm home btw 🫶🏻🫶🏻
We had all gone into the house and I had shown them around a bit and led them to the guest room.
"Sorry there's only one bed."
"Honey, it's fine."
I heard the door rattling.
"Shit. Kit's home."
"Lex?"
"Coming!"
"Wait close your eyes."
I had walked out with my eyes closed.
"Okay, you can open them!"
I had opened my eyes to see Kit with a puppy. A really cute one. It was the one we were looking at online.
"No way. You got him!?"
"Mhm!"
I had taken the puppy from him with a smile.
We were talking until we heard Ned tell someone to shut up.
"Who's here?"
"Someone."
Kit looked at me slightly confused as he walked towards the guest room.
"I swear, if it's just Dylan-"
He opened the door.
"Holy shit."
"Surprise." I said with a smile with the puppy still in my arms.
I had let Kit be with his family as I had played with the puppy.
"What should I name you? Do you like the name Wilbur?"
Kit had walked out and kissed me on the top of my head.
"You're amazing."
"I know." I said with a smile.
He had come sit next to me on the floor.
"Did you name him?"
"Wilbur."
"That's really cute actually."
"We gotta go shopping for puppy stuff."
"Yeah we do, don't we?"
Caroline had walked out.
"I'm gonna take your father with me to go get a pie. We'll be back."
"Are you taking Ned?"
"No, he wants to stay."
"Mom- take him with you-"
"Kit, he's your brother-"
