I woke up before Kit. I sat up and looked at my laptop. The three songs I did with Kit and Josh had released a few days ago. I wanted to beat my mother. I was in 2nd for almost a month now. I opened up to Billboard top 100. I screamed.
Kit had jumped awake.
"What the fuck-"
"Kit! I beat my mother! Meant To Be is number 1!"
"Jesus Lex. You scared the fuck out of me-"
I grabbed my phone and called my mother.
"Hey Lexi."
"I beat you!"
"In what?" She was genuinely confused.
"You're number 2 now!"
"Wait actually?"
"Yup! Meant To Be is number 1!"
"Well, congrats baby."
"To be the best, you have to beat the best."
My mother chuckled.
"Hey, I'll call you back. Your father is losing his mind again-"
"Alright, bye mom. Love you!"
"Love you too."
There was a knock on the front door.
"I'll get it-" Kit said as he got out of bed.
Kit opened the door.
"What a surprise!"
It was Selena
"Hello Kit!" Is Alexia around?"
"Yeah! She's in the bedroom."
"Where are you staying?"
"Taylor and Travis's. I'm gonna be in town for a while."
Kit closed the door once Selena was inside. I had walked out.
"Kit, do you think we could- Aunt Selena!"
"Hey kiddo!" She gave me a hug. "I heard you beat your mother on the charts."
"I did! With the help of Kit and Josh of course."
"I saw the music video for Meant To Be. It was amazing."
"Aw thanks! How long are you in town for?"
"I haven't decided yet. Likely for a little while." She grabbed my hand. "Since when?"
I chuckled.
"Kit and I have been engaged for a while now-"
"How did I not know?"
"I have no idea. We even posted it online. It was everywhere."
"Honestly, I've backed away from social media."
"That's fair." I looked over to see Kit digging for something. "Babe? What are you doing?"
"Selena you're like a romantic genius,"
"Thanks?"
"And we need help wedding planning."
"That still doesn't explain what you're looking for-"
"The binder, but the only I found is a notebook."
Kit opened it up and it was full of song.
"I think it's yours."
