And thanks with his friends and confidant's help, he was able to overcome any hardships and change people's life thus leading him freed from probation.
Now with the loss of Gorou Amamiya, the last of his family member, he swore to himself that he'll keep living to protect Ai and the others while also tracking down the killer and bring him to justice. Although due to her disingenuous thought, she couldn't bring herself to say "I love you" to Ren and her children. But nonetheless, she'll continue to lie until one day her lies will eventually becomes the truth.

During his time at Kamoshida's arc, he seems to lost any memories regarding about his past so he cooperates with Ren in favor of helping Morgana to find memories. Initially, he was thinking about using Ren and his friends for his own personal use. But overtime, he grew fond with them and fought alongside them till the very end as their team member and their close friend. He sometimes has inferiority complex whether he can be serve his usefulness to the team but he gets over it once Haru convinces him.
