Morning greeting us as soon as daylight breaks

We put out the fire, covering our tracks as we continued up north

We ate a small stash of nuts and berries I had left over from my day trip that I haven't eaten

Miles and I haven't really spoken much since last night

By looking at his under eyes, it looked like he didn't get much sleep either. He must've noticed how obviously quiet we were that he broke the ice.

"So, The Hunger Games.. What was that like?"

He said studying my face.

"It was awful."

I said, turning to him, meeting his eyes.

"Haven't you watched the games when it aired?"

"Part of it."

He said explaining why.

"I had to work during those days so I was only able to watch what I could in the evenings. But I did see the reaping though."

He said with a gigantic smirk on his face,

"I loved the part when you put the snake in the girl's dress. Going away with style."

He stated as he raised a brow at me, flustered.

"Who was she to you anyway?"

"The major's daughter. Mayfair."

I said as I briefly looked at the ground and back towards him.

"It's a long story."

He instantly chuckled as he quickly stated

"I got all the time in the world."

He said with his arm lifted wide.

I instantly chuckled and started off with

"Long story short, Mayfair and I didn't have the best friendship or relationship."

"Stating the obvious."

He said as I continued.

"Let's just say that we were both involved with the same person."

"Woah."

He said out of shock.

"It wasn't like that."

I instantly said correcting him.

"And because of it, I ultimately paid the price for it."

"Wow, that's a lot to take in."

He said instantly

"She must really hate you if you're insinuating that she convinced her father to pick your name in the reaping, all because of a boy."
